LSU defensive end Rashard Lawerence will not play on Saturday vs Mississippi State, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

Lawrence suffered an injury vs. BYU in the season opener and did not play last week vs. Chattanooga. He was able to practice on Tuesday without a injury jersey but could not go full speed.

These damn nagging injuries sometimes look good one day and not so good the next. Like what Fournette went through last year. It's really a day to day thing sometimes. I agree there's no need to rush him back, even though we may be thin on the line. I'm sure Aranda already has a backup plan of devastation and domination!

The author of this article sounds more definitive than Coach "O". As if he has made the decision for the team.

Why does the title day he is out as if it is certain when the tweets indicate that he is very questionable?

It's best not to push an injury, especially this early in the season. If it is still bothering him, give him ample time to heal so it's not nagging him later in the Championship Game.

Solid with a full roster. Down 2 of our top 3 at DE for this game against a good running team though. We'll notice a difference missing one our best players regardless, but mainly when we sub throughout the game. Guys still learning the game will be with the 2s instead of 3s now. Lac and Logan won't be as fresh late either if the coaches choose not to rotate as often as they would with Herron and Lawrence playing. That's the main thing I'm worried about it it's close late.
