SEC Football Lead Writer Barrett Sallee with Bleacher Report ranked the SEC coaching staff's for 2016 and pegged the LSU crew at No. 5.

Sallee cited the hires of new defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and ace recruiter and wide receiver coach Dameyune Craig as important offseason moves. Having defensive line coach Ed Orgeron also played into his ranking.

His only concern with the staff was offensive coordinator Cam Cameron:
quote:

The one holdup is offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who was successful in 2013 with pro-style quarterback Zach Mettenberger but hasn't had the same type of success with former Tiger Anthony Jennings or dual-threat quarterback Brandon Harris.
Here are the full rankings:

Texas A&M at 3 is hysterical.

Since when does Tigerdroppings cite Bleacher Report? That site is more biased than the SEC rant.

How in the world are people still falling for the A&M hype? What year is it; 2012?

I understand AL at #1 but after that who knows. Most of 2-9 could be shuffled anyway you want to spin it.

Except having A&M at 3. That's fricking crazy.

It seems as though aTm is ranked ahead of LSU on every list except the one that only relies on wins and losses.

A&M at 3? Must be those affirmative action points for having a native american on the staff.

Why is nobody mentioning the Gators at 2 is a joke?

I know! I'm like, Florida hasn't had a better football staff than LSU since Urban Meyer had Mullen as OC and Strong as DC.

Arkansas has no high school talent - we don't even recruit there. I don't know what they are defending. Lousiana is stacked every year

This sounds more like a ranking of head coaches instead of the overall staff. At Bama, with Kirby Smart gone, the only other one I can remember by name is Lane Kiffen.

This is Barrett Sallee and he hates that Miles doesn't prioritize the passing game, which is why he docs us, stupidly, behind teams like Florida, TAMU, and Ole Miss. Best secondary coach, best DL coach, one of the better OL coaches who recruits like a mad man, a WR coach who is an elite recruiter (who was also a great QB and coaches QBs), and one of the best DCs in the game.

Holy shite that list is horrible. In no way does UF,ole miss,or A&M have a better staff.

Agree with this and I don't even like Les. A&M should be far far down that list.

Florida? Must be because of beating Vandy and Fla international by a total of 4 points last year.

Seems Reasonable considering LSU has to over compensate for the buffoon in charge. Head Coach & OC = 12 All Other Assistants = 2 Total Staff = 5

UGA at #6 is pretty silly considering no one has a clue how un/successful Kirby Smart will be as a HC.
