LSU showed off more of the newly renovated Football Ops building on Wednesday and allowed the media to get a look at the new “Walk Through Room" where the team can walk through formations against projected opponents in a virtual setting.

According to some of the LSU beat reporters, the idea for the room came from defensive coordinator Dave Aranda who saw similar setups while visiting with NFL teams.

All the money they spent and they can’t get HD projectors. The picture quality looks like shite

Why in the frick would they need HD projectors? You haven’t been around sports much if you think that training equipment that involves projectors comes in 1080p

Brighter projectors are usually lower res. That said...nearly positive that’s the software and not the projectors
user avatar

It’s the software dumbass. EA Sports does not make “walkthrough software.” Those projectors are minimum 1080p and probably have a ridiculously high lumen rating to visualize during the day.

"This room is as wide as a football field, so you could do a full 11-man walk through here."

Yeah...that room is not 53 yards wide.

It’s as wide as the hash marks
user avatar
Shiftyplus182 months
When I think "width of a football field", I don't think "between the hashmarks".

This OP center is obviously next level advancement in so many ways and an incredible recruiting tool, which is why I wonder if these advancements should have been kept under wraps and only shared with recruits and team members. Expect the rest of college football to follow suit

Honestly that was my same thought on this particular part of the reveal.

Do you seriously think they could have kept this under wraps? No way. Might as well make a media spectacle and get the recruiting attention now.
