In an attempt to clean up some of the penalty issues LSU is dealing with, the Tigers had two referees on hand during practice on Tuesday.

I hope they brought enough flags...

My question is...are those SEC officials or another conference such as SWAC or Southland or even Conference USA? Although the NCAA rules are the same for all levels of sports, I can almost guarantee that different conferences call them different ways. It happens at all levels of sports.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember LSU being one of the most penalized teams in the nation for much of Miles tenure as well. I remember he brought in refs in practice also. Didn't help a lot then, either. I say it's not a lack of discipline, it's a lack of focus by a young, inexperienced team. Along with a few very bogus calls by the officials. Let's stop blaming coaches and realize that the players are the only ones who can change this. The next two games will give them a good chance to do that. And give the young qb's a chance at some valuable reps. It's a process. This team will get there. It took Saban 4 years to win a NC. It took Miles 3. Stay the course.

Oh they have refs to tell them what they were doing wrong last week? So what you are saying is...that they knew better? Ok, run those penalty committing, drive killing, drive continuing suckers into the ground and dare them to do it again this weekend.

Learning what refs will and will not call is fundamental

Maybe they should just practice harder and longer and learn some discipline.

Maybe they should hire some Alabama Grads instead to simulate SEC officiating

Exactly. So he keeps it up lol. Sounds a bit stubborn. Miles-like.

I find it strange that under Miles we were never this bad with penalties, and under O last year we weren't either. Now all of a sudden we are almost the worst in the nation. I'm not saying its not all on the coaches and kids, but something seems wrong when MSU had 2 td scoring drive during which we committed 7 penalties, some of which could be called on any team on any play. It feels...hinky is all.

UREC refs aren't going to help, they will just confuse the team. They were probably telling the defense they have to hold the fingers up and count to 5 before they can rush the passer. Oh, and every other play has to incorporate a female player.

Hopefully they are different referees than last week's Preparatory referees who obviously failed to do their job

Coach O said in his press conference that they've been having refs at practice. Obviously, that hasnt done any good

Thought they were doing this already. Obviously it didn't work before the MS game.
