There is a very good chance that Alabama fans will be faced with the question of who to root for in a potential National Championship between LSU and Clemson on January 13.

According to ESPN's Paul Finebaum, Alabama fans will likely rather see LSU win over Clemson winning their third National Championship in four years. Per SaturdayDownSouth:
quote:

“That may be the most painful question of them all,” Finebaum said. “I frankly think they’d almost rather see LSU win than Clemson. Because by Clemson winning, Lance, it suddenly means that Clemson has outperformed Alabama lately. … I still think Alabama fans, based on what I hear, they’re not as concerned about LSU as they are Clemson. They feel like they may have been a one-off … ”

“I think they can live with LSU winning,” Finebaum said. “I frankly believe that Alabama fans would rather see LSU win, as crazy as that sounds, than Auburn or Georgia. Georgia is the team that I think they’ve really been concerned about because Kirby has been such a nemesis in terms of recruiting and now I think they’re exhaling even on that one.”

Everytime bama made it to the playoffs or championship I rooted against them and told every tiger fan I knew nothing good could come from us by Bama winning in those spots. If bama is smart they’ll pull for Clemson

Half of them are sidewalk fans anyway, so they’ll wait to see which team won and that’s who they were rooting for the whole time.

This is PF's way of belittling LSU's phenomenal season. He is trying to say that, no matter what, it is always all about Bama.

Here are the facts: It does not matter who they cheer for, because either way, they will be at home watching us play... It will not be about them, it will be about LSU... And like a good money shot, they are going to have to sit there and deal with a load of purple and gold all up in their eyes and ears... Put that in your pipe and smoke on it.

Why would a coach leave a school and go to a school that is a step down from where he is ..... That would make no sense.

Bama should absolutely be rooting for LSU to win it all just as any SEC team should be rooting for any other SEC team in the playoffs/championship. Reason why... a significant part of the equation for ranking and selectimg teams is based on human judgment (the committee). If a team plays in what is perceived to be the best conference (SEC) then that carries a lot of weight when they do their rankings. SEC teams wins it all = SEC continues to viewed as the toughest conference. Helps all SEC teams out for the next year.

I agree....frick Bama but you can't deny it benefits all SEC teams when SEC wins. If it where a true playoff then yeah it wouldn't matter.
