As you can imagine, Lane Kiffin's short time on the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday was jam-packed with questions about his job speculation at Ole Miss. Here's what he had to say:
Lane Kiffin on the SEC Coaches Teleconference:
"I love it here. We are in the greatest run that this school has ever had. It's amazing. I'm living in the moment. The players are, too. It's awesome to be a part of."
Asked about possibly leaving Ole Miss before the Egg Bowl:
-Says there is no reason why he wouldn't coach the Egg Bowl next week, amid job speculation.
Asked whether the reports that he spoke with the Louisiana Governor are accurate?
"I won't comment on that either way."
Asked about possibly leaving Ole Miss before the postseason, or the Egg Bowl, or speculation about other jobs...
The answer was the same each time: "I'm not speaking about other jobs."
On the timing of this job rumor speculation with the CFP run ahead:
"Yeah, if a team wanted a playoff coach, this was bound to happen."
Asked about what his family learned on their recent trips to Gainesville and Baton Rouge:
"Like I said, I'm not commenting on speculation or stories of things having to do with other jobs."
"I've said that ten times. But I understand, you have to ask them."
