LSU wide receiver Jonathan Giles has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, which allows other schools to contact him.

The senior from Missouri City, Texas originally transferred to LSU from Texas Tech and had to sit out the entire 2017 season.

Giles picked the No. 7 jersey in 2018 but switched to No. 12 after a slow start to the season. He finished the 2018 season with just 10 receptions for 59 yards.

Good luck to this Tiger. Hoping he took advantage of the tutors and academic advantages athletes have access to. He is in a position of great competitive skill. Wish him nothing but the best. Heck, he could still get pt this season.

The only problem I have with him was that he took game reps away from players who could make plays.

Why have a problem with him for that? Was he supposed to tell the coach’s, “No thanks coach, these other guys are better, I’m not going in”?

No reason for the negative comments. Giles worked hard, earned his place and it jsut did not work out as hoped. Wish him well wherever he lands.

Big time critic of him. But I wish him no harm and a fresh start. And it’s a useful roster spot opening for us. Good riddance but good luck.

Great decision, would be a stretch to get playing time with the receiver talent we have and he can get a fresh start. A shame it did not work out.

I can certainly understand his decision. He had so much promise and even was given THE jersey, but sometimes expectations do not pan out with reality. I wish him well, I think he saw the writing on the wall...this is the right move for him.

I never thought he had that many drops, it was just he could never get open or make a play when he had the ball.

"after a slow start to the season", ended 2018 with 10 receptions for 59 yards. GTFO!

I really had high hopes for Giles when he transferred from TT. I hate that it didn't work out for him, but I do wish him the best in his football career.

Good.... this stage was way too big for him, and he never did quite live up to the hype... wish him well in the future...

Hate that it didn’t work out the way we all expected. Like others said, way too much hype, which wasn’t really fair to him. Seems like a good kid. I wish him well.

Good bye. Whoever gave him the schollie should have have to pay the school back the cash for those two years.

Good kid. Too much hype before setting foot on the field! Expectations were set way too high and sadly he didn’t meet them. Good luck to him!
