If BAMA plays LSU the way they played Texas and TAM and LSU plays them the way they played Ole Miss in the second half. LSU beats BAMA. Remember, LSU held BAMA to 6 yards rushing, last year. If they do the same and slow Bryce Young a bit, they can knock off #4. No one is saying LSU will, definitely, lose to BAMA, at this point. There is nothing wrong with them being placed at # 10. Everyone ranked below LSU has not spanked a top 10 team the Way LSU beat Ole Miss.

The top 10 ranking is nothing more than a ploy to get Bama back in the top 4. Think about it, for the rest of Bama’s schedule where will they have the opportunity to secure a top 10 win? Absolutely nowhere except for the SEC Championship. This is definitely a setup.

Typically I'd agree, but after this weekend, there will be 2 SEC East teams with a better resume just for having played each other, so even if Bama gets to claim a win over a top 10 LSU, they still HAVE to win the SECCG to get in over 1 of those East teams, and if all four win out after this weekend, that would be the case regardless of LSU's rank. The ranking is either a reward for the current level of play and beating Ole Miss, or publicity for a second big SEC game this weekend (or both), but I don't think it matters that much for Bama since their loss is to one of those East teams (same as LSU).

It’s too high, and I’m an LSU fan.

Loss to fsu really hurts. Probably top 15-20 with two losses, one to a bad team and one bad loss to a good team

Gotta be an "eye test" thing. With 3 losses, FSU isn't ranked, so that should keep LSU low. When Wake Forest and Syracuse are among the best in the ACC, any loss to an ACC team not named Clemson should be devastating.

Seems to be a lot of wondering. Something the CFP considers more than the polls is how a team is doing at a point in time and not just body of work. They see how much LSU has put it together at this point and have recognized that in the rating. This isn’t puffery just for the sake of a top 10 match up.

I was about to say, nah we shouldn't be that high, then I saw behind who's behind us. Looks about right--hard to argue with any of those teams being ahead of LSU.

Watch out for that 11/12 UGA @ Mississippi State game. Leach jumps up and takes a down a highly ranked team every year. That’s the one.

This was done to benefit bama. If they win, they can claim a top 10 win.

This is just a placeholder in case we beat Bama. It would look really bad for a 15-20 ranked team to rise at the last minute into the CFB. The committee realizes we control our own destiny up until selection time if we keep winning.

Gumps will be mad at their ranking.

I think most Gumps have watched enough good football to realize this isn’t going to be their year.
