LSU offensive lineman Maea Teuhema has been indefinitely suspended from the team for a violation of team rules, the school announced Wednesday.

The news comes just a two days after head coach Ed Orgeron told the media that Teuhema was sitting out of practice because of "academic issues."

Teuhema is a two-year starter, playing both tackle and guard. He was projected to be LSU's starting right guard this season.

Redshirt freshman Lloyd Cushenberry and sophomore Donavaughn Campbell will compete for the starting right guard spot with Teuhema suspended. Redshirt sophomore Adrian Magee and freshman Austin Deculus could also get reps at the guard spot throughout camp.

Here is what the current O-Line depth chart looks like:

Left Tackle: KJ Malone, Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles
Left Guard: Garrett Brumfield, Ed Ingram
Center: Will Clapp
Right Guard: Lloyd Cushenberry, Donavaughn Campbell
Right Tackle: Toby Weathersby, Jakori Savage

*Adrian Magee can play multiple positions on the offensive line.

This is a major hit. The line was thin already and he was able to play guard or tackle, so it's almost like losing a starter and a backup.

Follows up his notice that he is skating on thin ice by violating team rules. That's one way to go about it, I guess.

WHY IS IT THESE KIDS HAVE TO KEEP ON GOING AGAINST TEAM RULES? THEY KNOW THEY CANNOT PLAY WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE RULES. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHO THE COACH IS THEY ARE GOING AGAINST THE COACH NO MATTER WHAT! IT HAPPENS THIS TIME EVERY YEAR! JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE A TEAM THAT IS FINALLY COMING TOGETHER AS ONE, ONE HARDHEAD HAS TO PROVE THAT HE WILL DO WHAT HE WANTS AND MESSES UP THE WHOLE TEAM!

Yes. I think Lou Pai summed it up. 18-19 year old kids think differently than they will in 20 years and sometimes make poor decisions. It's not Grimes or Orgeron or Miles. It's young kids who are trying to grow up in the spotlight and some struggle with it. It's frustrating for fans, but in reality, every family has em. It's just life. Hopefully, he gets the message and makes it back before the season opener!

Someone please Define for me "indefinitely suspended " vs "suspended".

The word suspend implies a temporary disbarment. That is, suspensions typically have a stated duration. The word indefinitely gives greater detail to the suspension. Let me know if you need any more help.

Same here. His recruiting is extremely suspect and he can't keep his guys from either transferring out because they weren't good enough to play or because they can't make it in the classroom or because they seem to have a lack of desire and work ethic. Whatever it is, it is obvious Grimes has to go to effect change. His lines have under performed since he's been here. O needs to go get his own guy.

Why are humanity courses so difficult? You go to class, get the answers from the tutors/classmates, and for test days look at the kids sheet in front of you...

You might have to show up for the test though. That can be really hard for some students.

What is going on with the Teuhema family. Can we not just behave and get a free education/potentially get drafted?
