LSU OC Mike Denbrock Talks About The QB Competition This Spring

Listen up... there is no competition for the starter in Game #1. It will be 5th-year Senior Myles Brennan. Clear?

No clear #1 means that someone learning is rising. You know what you have with older guys...new blood is pushing....translation--Howard

If any of the QB’s can beat out Brennan, I have no worries. Because the last time I saw Brennan run the offense, his numbers were eclipsing Joe Burrow’s numbers. I think a lot of people have forgotten how good Brennan can be. Got to be pretty darn good to beat him out.

I hope Myles sticks around so we can actually see him play. It’s definitely looking like we are in the early stages and won’t know anything for a long time.

It’s too bad that Howard is a freshman. That kid is going to be the future QB at LSU. Even with his injury, reports are that he’s got the IT factor. Sees things quickly, has a cannon, accurate, moves well in the pocket and throws a catchable ball. He’s not afraid to let the WRs go up and catch the ball and puts the ball in a spot that only the WR has a chance to catch it. He just needs experience. I like his chances if the other experienced QBs don’t develop further.

BK has used 2 QBs before: Everett Golston & Tommy Rees, Malik Zaire & Deshone Kizer come to mind. I’ll bet MB starts & JD has his own package of plays

My prediction is MB will start and JD will play in certain situations.

2 QB = 5 loss season and 5th place in the SEC West. Hell no!
