Multiple sources are reporting that LSU has hired New Orleans Saints offensive assistant coach Joe Brady as the team's new passing game coordinator. Bruce Feldman first reported the news.

Brady is 28 years old and will replace Jerry Sullivan who announced his retirement earlier this month. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

Brady spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant. He worked primarily with tight ends in 2017 and quarterbacks in 2018.

He is the youngest full-time coach on the LSU staff, below 30-year-old defensive line coach Dennis Johnson.

Before joining the Saints, he was a graduate assistant at Penn State for two years. He was also a defensive assistant at his alma mater William & Mary, where he was an Academic All-Conference receiver.

If he can get JB to release .5 seconds sooner - that would be great.

I'm a die hard New Orleans Saints and LSU Tiger fan a DIIIEE HAAARRRDD FAN!!! I am more excited about LSU hiring Joe Brady as the new passing game coordinator than I am hurt by the Saints losing him because the Tigers need some innovative excitement in our passing game and we all know HC Sean Payton in the brains behind our Saints offense. Maybe Brady can instill some of those back shoulder throws that Brees is so awesome at and man you would think with that 6'6" Sullivan kid at WR it would've a given. Joe Brady should bring some of those Saints offensive concepts that might turn the Emery/Davis combo into the Ingram/Kamara duel and Jefferson, Chase or Marshall into Can't Guard Mike, you never know. At least we know Coach O is not resting on his laurels and maybe this move will finally get that damn gigantic Bama Gorilla off our back. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!PURPLEREIGN??????????

“Assisting the team’s offensive staff in all aspects of game preparation, the Saints finished second in the NFL offensively, as the only team ranked in the top five in both passing (fifth) and rushing (fifth)“ Sounds good to me!

Quite the change for the passing game coordinator... from nursing home to young professional. I like the young energy and hope we see some innovation with our stable of receivers. Geaux Tigers.

Loving the things we are doing. This guy should mesh well with the players and his exposure to Drew B in N.O. should help our QB's. O seems to be on a role, and we need to finish out the 2019 class strong.

Actually a really great hire. Seems smart, knows what he is doing, and he's young and innovative. Working with the Saints offense for two years certainly helps.

We have a returning QB who had a successful first year and return all our WRs as well as all OL except Brum who missed about half the year...No reason we shouldn't be much improved passing with this guy but ill have to see it, REALLY hope he can bring some of those screen plays the Saints are so good at executing...Emery could be deadly on those

Aside from bringing in a top notch young OC this is one of the best moves LSU could make. I like that the guy was a QB coach, the Saints, obviously, are one of the 3-4 most innovative offenses in the league, though this "passing game coordinator" "running game coordinator" as well as an OC is confusing to me, the passing game doesn't work independently of the run game, then you have an OC that's not in charge of the passing game...just seems inefficient and confusing, if anyone has a better understanding I welcome it

Steve E calls the plays in game. The others help him develop and plan those plays while also teaching the players to execute them correctly.

He wasn't going to be a coach. He could still become an analyst for the staff.

Real good hire. Payton gave him a big endorsement. Bring some fresh ideas and he can actually get put and recruit.

Hope he helps us make some strides in the passing game. Feels like we have been right below the bar despite people saying we are bottomed out. A couple good moves in the right direction and I think we will start to make some headway on offense.
