LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward Releases Statement On Koy Moore Incident
by TD Staff ReporterNovember 9, 2020

LSU Sports Media
Per LSU:
A statement from LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward:
“The safety and well-being of our student-athletes is our most important responsibility, and the details described by Koy Moore of his encounter with Baton Rouge Police on Saturday night are very troubling. We have engaged with Koy and his family, and the appropriate LSU officials are working with BRPD to help gather all of the facts of the incident. We have full faith BRPD will conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter. We will continue to dedicate every available resource to supporting Koy and all other LSU student-athletes who are understandably upset. Black Americans should never be treated unjustly by law enforcement, and we will continue to do our part to help change systemic racism in America.”

national news says the three brpd officers in question have already been put on leave and the both Coach O and AD woodward are standing behind koy moore....this is good news. Its a good start. To all the fox news brainwashed racists commenting below and in other posts, go pull for alabama or ole miss; we do not need you or want you; you do not deserve to wear the purple and gold even as a fan.

Who is racist? Isn't it reverse racism to believe the black boy WITHOUT hearing the other side? Let's wait for the info to come out and then once u see some video footage, then make a decision..there's too much of this jump on the victim's sides without looking at all the facts.

I hope this is a wake up call for black athletes! You can tell by the responses of the prejudice and racist comments on this board! That they only care about you playing and winning for LSU! I hope parents start encouraging there kids to attend HBCU's. It's time for our kids to be with people who look like us, and understand our plight in this country!

O and the admin have to have these kids backs. They are not running for election they are trying to get other recruits to come here. We can wait for evidence of wrong doing to make assessment of the situation but it is in O’s best interest to treat the players like they are his kids and have their back first until there is overwhelming evidence they were in the wrong.

Things are very sensitive right now.
An unarmed black man was murderd in the streets of Minneapolis as a white police officer while he smiled for the camera.
An unarmed african american woman was murdered by police officers in Louisville as she was dialing 911 for help.
There is also a lot hurt going on in the white race. Suicide is taking way too many lives right now. Drug addiction is also at record highs. By addicative prescriptions drugs prescribed to help you. White woman are being incarcerated in prison at record levels. That takes a toll as well.
Lots of hope with our next generation of young people. Thier are best hope!

Neither side looks at the facts of each case. Just makes statements on thier preconceived judgements.
The vast majority of police are honorable men and woman who risk thier lives to protect yours. They are heroes and deserve more praise.
There are also terrible, corrupt, and racist police officers who need to be rooted out and not protected by the powerfull police unions.
The opportunists on both sides make make me very sad.

Koy Moore is a freshman student athlete why in the HELL would he lie? What purpose does it serve? You all will never understand the feeling you have when just walking home and all of a sudden you're staring at the barrel of an officer revolver. The fear then the anger that for no reason you are being told to put your hands up and to get on the ground or I'll blow your f'ing head off. Thank God those a'holes were Tiger fans or this story could have ended totally different with the Moore and LSU family grieving.

EGGZACKLEE...why would he make something like this up...not to mention brpd cops are notorious for being overbearing a-holes even to non-blacks so i am sure most of the student population who have to live in baton rouge and deal with these cops fully support koy moore and are grateful that he had the courage and fortitude to come forward with this episode of unacceptable police conduct.

Responding to King Racist biglego. So forced slavery was a hoax? Jim Crow was a hoax. The Tuskegee Experiment was a hoax? The church bombing was a hoax? The existence of the KKK is a hoax? The lynchings and brutalization of black people if front of crowds was a hoax? The existence of racist fools like you is a hoax? Hatred rots the brain. That explains a person like you. How is it that racists are always denying and minimizing the existence racism against another race when it doesn't effect them? How would they know? They deny the existence of something they are incapable of experiencing. Sort of like the people who claimed the world is flat but never left their small insulated area of the world.

It’s obvious racists are not capable of understanding or recognizing racism. Their position is they deserved it. If that were your son, would you still be of the position why are they taking his word? Why wouldn’t they take his word? You must believe cops are infallible and never lie. That world you live in is a special place. I can see why you all would want to return there. It great! For people like you. Racism is so ingrained you people know no other way. It is a normal state of being. That is why you always freak out when others allege racism. You believe it’s normal behavior AND they deserved it.
