Lane Kiffin Says He Almost Left Bama To Join Ed Orgeron At LSU
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

quote:

Kiffin admitted today to sportscaster Bo Mattingly that he considered leaving Alabama to join Ed Orgeron at LSU. Multiple reports late in the 2016 season said the Tigers had interest in bringing the talented offensive mind aboard.

Even though coach O wanted him, I think most people at LSU is glad he passed.

I believe I speak for most LSU fans when I say I'm glad the chips fell as they did in regards to an OC.

Devine intervention. Anyway, south Florida is a better place to live with millions than BR. Especially nowadays.

If he fails at FIU, O will likely come calling once Canada leaves.

"How is everyone so confident Canada will do great things at lsu” I think we all know that a Jr High Coach could do better than that buffon Carmeron and the womanizing Miles.

The truth of the matter is he was never considering LSU because of Saban. Saban recommended him for a head coaching position strictly so he wouldn't go to LSU. So much so Lane Kiffin chose to be head coach at a school that's paying him 1 million dollars less than he would've made to be a coordinator at LSU. Pure Blasphemy if you ask me.

I passed the second I saw Bo Mattingly's name attached to the interview. He may be just as nauseating as Finebaum.

What I think he meant to say was "I was forced to leave Alabama because of the Big O".

Too bad the SEC would blackball him if he did. That came from Hanky Sankey.

Lane, Canada imo both would have been better than the last Oc.. I'm Not ready to say Canada is a better offensive mind but other factors are the reason I like Canada better. But all bs aside Aranda and Lane would've been tough.

Lane Kiffen is the most innovative offensive coach in college football. And one who says otherwise is being ridiculous. With that being said, I am happy with Matt Canada and what he brings to the table. I think he will bring our offense into the modern age (something Cameron and Miles refused to do). Kiffen wanted to be a Head coach. Something that wasn't going to happen at LSU. Kiffen got his HC gig, LSU got an OC who knows and understands today's college football and Bama got a TE coach as thier OC. Everyonea happy!

I didn't down vote you but I don't agree with you. His offense is pretty stale but he is good at playing to his strengths. His strengths just so happened to have more talent at every position on the field the last few years.
