LSU could be without running back John Emery Jr. for a second week in a row as his status for Saturday's game against McNeese State is "unknown," Ed Orgeron said Tuesday.
Emery Jr. missed a few preseason practices due to an injury and sat out the season opener vs. UCLA because of academic issues.
Orgeron added that he should know more about his status later this week.
Orgeron previously said on August 10 that Emery Jr. was working on his academics this summer and was happy about his progress.

"John Emery was finishing up some school yesterday. I'm very proud of our players in summer school. We had some guys that had some work to do and we'll have a final report on Thursday but it's looking positive. John Emery was one of the guys and I'm very proud of his work in the classroom this summer."
