Alabama-based attorney Don Jackson is representing John Emery Jr. in his academic ineligibility case and is confident the LSU running back will be reinstated, according to Brody Miller with The Athletic:

Jackson believes that due to Emery's family hardships over the last 18 months and new information related to the case could result in an NCAA waiver. Per The Advocate:
quote:

Emery’s side believes extenuating circumstances over the past 18 months should result in a waiver, Jackson said. Within that time, Emery lost his grandmother to cancer, his step-father underwent a lengthy battle with COVID-19 that put him in the hospital on a ventilator and his mother tested positive for the virus. At the same time, classes moved online because of the pandemic.

“Our position,” Jackson said, “is that all of these factors would lean toward a waiver.”

Emery tried to regain sufficient academic standing this summer and was an honor student, Jackson said. LSU tried to get Emery a waiver because of his family's hardships. The NCAA denied the request.

I bet if he played for Bama, he would have been reinstated immediately after be declared ineligible. Wouldn't even have to appeal!

I was also confident that Trump was going to be reinstated last month.

Attorneys, when given the chance, always publicly state that they are confident that they will win. It’s as meaningful as Coach O saying that he’s confident that we’ll get things fixed.

No offense, but why even try? He offers nothing to the team. He has been a 5 star bust. The juice is simply not worth the squeeze. Roll with the young, hungry kids that want it. No more waiting, turn the page.

Emery has put himself in this position and up until now he has not done much but take up a roster spot. I agree it is time to play players who want to play. That goes for every other position on the team as well. If Emery comes back he should be the last RB in the rotation.

Can he play center?

Hell he can’t play RB. He hasn’t done much at all in his LSU career and now he is all concerned after he got himself ineligible.

Scott Woodward news to tell his wife to call her daddy and tell him to fix this or he doesn't get to see the grandkids anymore.

Why waste that on Emery? Use it for someone who has actually produced on the field…

I hope they embarrass the NCAA and make them look heartless. They’ve handed out waivers left and right for nothing.

I hope Emery comes back and crushes expectations. He has talent, but needs to put the details together. Too bad his head coach does not know how to do that.

Problem is, his head coach is dumber than he is.

What in the Hell is wrong with you nitwits? Emery’s problems are Emery created. It isn’t the Coaches or Administrators. It is all on Emery who has loafed both on and off the field.
