LSU safety and Baton Rouge native Jardin Gilbert spoke with reporters on Tuesday and said he regrets committing to Texas A&M out of University High School instead of staying home to play for the Tigers.
quote:

"It's a decision I should have made in the beginning. I'm grown enough to admit it," Gilbert said. "But it's a blessing to be back home around my brothers and my family. I wouldn't trade it for the world."

Gilbert also discussed the Ole Miss win, the upcoming Arkansas game, and more.

Glad to have him now, hope he shares what he learned with some of the in-state recruits.

That is life. It looks like he wanted to try something different. He should have no regrets. Probably better all around for it.

Fans need to lay off of Burns. Dude is morphing into an animal.

Can’t fault you at all. What matters is your home.

Other Louisiana recruits need to hear this. The grass and the money are not greener across the borders.

Making decisions like that and then making a change are a part of growing up. I'm glad things are working out for him.

Love to hear this, but I didn't think he had a committable offer out of high school. I can't remember, though.

I thought he and Edgerrin didn't have the green light and ended up at ATM.

Nah, we wanted him. However i think he will be much better next year after a year in Baker's system. With both Weeks brothers returning (West Weeks already said he's redshirting), LSU should be able to have an even better defense next year despite losing Jones and Swinson at DE. Toviano should be a better star than Burns who is actually improving.

If I remember correctly it was a bidding war that went on most of the afternoon on commitment day. I can’t remember if that was Gilbert or that pothead that came back last year and spent most of the year suspended

Except this time he's accepting responsibility instead of blaming the rain.
