LSU moved up one spot in the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night to No. 6.

If the 12-team expanded playoff were here this season, the Tigers would be a 7-seed playing No. 10 Utah, according to Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger.

The winner would go on to play No. 2 Ohio State at the Orange Bowl in the second round.

Wish we would just go with an 8 team playoff. Simple and straight forward. Top 6 Conferences send their Conference Champion. 2 byes allows for someone undefeated that is upset in their Conference Championship to back in. GA comes to mind after we upset them…Hope is a wonderful thing.

Possibly 4 more games for two teams.

There are never more than 3 teams at the end that are true contenders. We should have just stuck with BCS. The playoff just gives more games between more pretenders until they meet one of the true top two and get blown out.

Im willing to bet that theyll be MAJOR upsets every year in this 12 Team CFP. Teams that have no business being ranked high (Top 4 - Like TCU) will get beaten by 2/3 Loss teams from the SEC or B10

I like this.. means a lot better football at the end of the season instead of shite bowl blowouts

Nobody below LSU is deserving of a shot at the Playoff, and without winning the SEC championship game LSU would not be worthy either.

Tell that to the NY Giants and others that have won the SB as a wildcard team.

So Georgia would have to beat LSU...in SECCG...then they're likely rewarded with playing Alabama...

Crazy

They should do the top six conference champs. Seed them. Top 4 seeds get a guaranteed home game for the playoffs. Play the championship at a neutral site.

The conference championship is your technical first round for the playoffs as you win the conference to be eligible for playoff top 6.

Holding it to six gives the bye and the home game which creates urgency to do other things during the year to boost your resume.

Shockingly Ole Miss is left out. How is that fair?

Clearly none of you have reading comprehension skills...

USC is at 4 because the four conference champions get the top four seeds and a bye.

I don’t like this setup. The PAC-12 has been crap for years. Competition in the Big12 isn’t much better. Just do the top 12 teams in the rankings as they are and play it out, format doesn’t look horrible.

But I could see a .500 Pac12 team ruffling some feathers getting an automatic #4 seed.

Same. More football is better. Makes teams earn it too.

Why not 8 teams. By the end I haven't seen 4 teams worth a shite. It's usually 3
