FBSchedules.com was nice enough to compile the Sagarin Strength of Schedule ranking for the College Football Playoff Top 10 teams as of Oct. 30.

LSU has the toughest schedule at No. 6 followed by Kentucky (22) and Michigan (23).

Alabama (60) has the weakest strength of schedule of the Top 10 teams, according to the stats.

Clemson has an even weaker schedule than Bama

This reminds me of the 2011 team that ran the table against one of the toughest schedules in college football, only to face a team that they’d already beaten at their place who didn’t win their division or even play in a conference championship. It’s hard to beat most teams twice on one season, but almost impossible to beat a great coach with extra time to prepare.

University of Mulligan. Only team to ever finish 3rd in its conference and still be handed a shot to play for the NC.

This SOS ranking is a POS. How is Iowa State #1 and UCLA #2? Because they have both played Oklahoma? The big 12 and Pac 10 do not have enough good programs in the conference to even make this list! AND it is not our fault that we demoralize teams when we beat them... I would like to think we had something to do with ruining Miami, Auburn, Miss St's seasons. Even though they are going to discredit those wins now b/c they are no longer top 10 teams, I would like to think we get credit for ruining their hopes and dreams.

Strength of schedule doesn't really mean anything... you simply have to play the schedule you have and beat everyone on the schedule. Every team has it's advantages and disadvantages and some teams match up with some teams better than others (better at passing or running or stopping passing or running); which is why the teams play the game instead of just anointing a team National Champions by watching them practice. The LSU Bama match is very interesting because of the types of match ups on the field. Both teams have terrific advantages and disadvantages... the team who can hide their weaknesses best and take advantage of the other teams weaknesses wins. Throwing one teams past wins and defeats at each other doesn't prove anything. This should be a terrific game and I look forward to watching. Best of Luck Tigers.

Man I remember the so called experts saying LSU wouldn't win 6 games this year because we had the toughest schedule in the country. Now all of a sudden there's 5 teams with a stronger SOS, I'm not buying it, it's not the Tigers fault where Miami and Auburn ended up they were top 10 teams when we played them and Georgia just beat Florida and Miss. St. put up 28 points on #16 A&M in a victory and could muster up only 3 points against us. I said before the season started LSU will finish 11-1 with the lost not coming from Alabama but Florida or Georgia and they would get their revenge in the SEC Championship Game but now it looks like LSU vs Georgia part deux. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!PURPLEREIGN?????????

Strength of schedule is only really meaningful if you win...then it becomes the tie breaker.

So insightful! However you really should take a moment before posting and realize that Bama can't schedule themselves and everyone who plays them benefits highly in their SOS by definition...but stay edgy bro!

Right, Crimson1st. Not to mention we've beaten and blown everyone out so of course they drop in the polls some. Watch this narrative after Saturday night in Bryant-Denny West stadium: "LSU was overrated and Bama still hasn't really beaten anyone!".

And there you have it. SOS, Tiger Stadium and CT is why the Tigers will win.

So, not a great QB, not the running backs, not the defense... it's SOS and your kicker?!? Hey, I'm convinced! Who the hell could argue against such logical rationalization?
