The Arizona Cardinals announced the hire of Jen Welter on Monday who is believed to be the first female coach in the NFL.

Welter was hired as an assistant coaching intern for training camp and the preseason to work with inside linebackers, which includes former LSU linebacker Kevin Minter.

Minter, along with former LSU and current Arizona Cardinals teammates Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu took to Twitter to welcome their new coach to the team.

Because if you play 20 years of Womens football its still a damn joke. I suppose you think that playing Womens league is comparable to SEC ball much less NFL level. By that logic playing in the WNBA is the same as playing in the NBA. It is laughable and so are you nitwits who support crap like this.

"Psychology and PhD in Psychology"

So she can be a Ghostbuster, but I don't see how that is a football qualification.

lol.
She has more coaching chops than literally any of the people who are complaining about it. She was a semi-pro ballplayer and professional coach in men and women's arena leagues. She has a master's in Sports Psychology and PhD in Psychology. If there is anyone who is an expert on how athletes think and what motivates them (you know... the things coaches are supposed to know), it's her.

Also, if the players don't have a problem with her being an INTERN coach, none of you jacklegs should.

"do you and your leftwing pals"

Another swing and a miss. I have no problem in saying I vote red and always have. But no, I don't think this is wrong and whether or not she was hired simply because she was a woman, I still hope she does well and proves she's earned it. I just find it amusing just how angry some of you are getting over a training camp/preseason intern. Had she been named linebacker coach I agree that would be wrong considering she could have never played the position. And of course the media is going to cover it---it's unusual-hell, it's never happened before.

Yes dufus we read the article and can comprehend that she is an intern LB coach. However, do you and your leftwing pals understand that this is simply not right? I suppose you believe that she wasn't given this opportunity simply because she is female and that she was the most qualified and deserving coach for that position? In any event the media publicized and sensationalized it. If the reactions here don't suit you then it's unfortunate but tough.

Y'all do realize she's a coaching INTERN, right? Did some of you morons actually read this and think she was the linebackers coach? She's learning how to one day coach--pretty big difference, but don't let that get in the way of blind stupidity.

"Believed to be? Seems like it would be pretty easy to say she is or isnt the first female coach."

They have be careful to be inclusive of any potential transgendered coaches.

Yea what is her coaching background? Did she play lingerie football or something. If be pretty upset if I was more of a cardinal fan. I just like that so many tigers are there. If they welcomed me her I guess I can be ok with it too though. They're the pros
