Former LSU and San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid has signed with the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers recently placed starting safety Da'Norris Searcy on the injured reserve list.

Reid, a native of Geismar, La (Dutchtown HS) played at LSU from 2010-2012 and was selected by the 49ers with the 18th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

ELchapoLSU - you are black? You aren’t a combat veteran. Every thread about this issue has your blabber all over it. Go back in your hole.

Nah, you and all of your ilk are cowards. Never saying what you REALLY want to say about this issue and many others...what you say behind closed doors. Entitled racist cowards.

Fenwick, the real issue is it’s not an issue. 3 cops aren’t killed in BR if Alton Sterling shuts the frick up and puts his hands behind his back. Hell, he’d likely still be smoking crack and helping the community. Crazy to think about

This guy was at one time one of my favorite players for LSU. He lost all respect when he kneeled for our anthem and started his blank panther shite. All those men and women overseas fighting for him and the rest of our country so he can actually enjoy freedom and he chooses to disrespect them by kneeling for our anthem. FRICK HIM AND ANYONE OUT THERE THST SUPPORTS HIM!!

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with him. He is just too good to remain on the sidelines. Kaepernick on the other hand, is not good enough.

I should have expected this kind of behavior from this type of person.

I watched friends brought home under "that flag". There is a way to protest and this is not it. I hope he blows out a knee.

I cover 3 of my shipmates in that flag. I will assure you that a significant portion of veterans have no issue with this type of protest. I, a decorated combat veteran, fought for the right of Americans to do exactly what these guys are doing and for your right to feel about it the way that you do. Rights cut both ways. I have bled to make it so.

dellis337 When I hear a supposed veteran say that “a significant portion of veterans have no issue” I know you are full of shite. I have not met one combat veteran who would back what you just said. Utter bullshite. Racism cuts both ways too and this kneeling and Fist rasing is just a way for them to get whitey.

Farkwad You’re just babbling out of pure emotion like a woman. I’ve done 2tours in Iraq & can assure majority of soldiers do in fact feel this way. We fought for the rights of every American, so these have every right to protest however. The protest never been about the flag anyways. So stop the yapping it’s plenty of combat veterans that don’t have a problem with the protest.
