LSU System President Dr. Wade Rousse issued a letter to Tiger Nation on Friday ahead of Saturday's highly anticipated matchup against Alabama in Tiger Stadium.

In the letter, Rousse addressed unacceptable behavior at LSU's last home game and reminded fans that unauthorized large-scale gatherings will be strictly prohibited, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming gameday environment.

Rousse also outlined restrictions on student tailgates and warned that violence, illegal drug activity, and interference with law enforcement will not be tolerated.

Here's the full letter from Rousse:
quote:

Dear Tiger Nation,

Gameday is about football, our traditions and the LSU family. As we welcome Alabama this Saturday, bring the energy, have fun and treat fellow Tigers, visiting fans and our campus with respect.

What we saw at our last home game was unacceptable. Chancellor Dalton and I expect an elite gameday experience that is safe and welcoming for everyone.

As a reminder, traditional tailgating is always welcomed, but unauthorized large-scale gatherings will be strictly prohibited. Student tailgates must end one hour before kickoff. No additional events are allowed during or after the game, except traditional tailgates where fans are watching the game.

Violence, illegal drug activity and interference with law enforcement will not be tolerated. Individuals and organizations will be held accountable.

Help us protect the LSU-Alabama tradition. Celebrate responsibly, look out for one another. We are ALL LSU.

Geaux Tigers!

Dr. Wade Rousse

People who cause trouble should be given "LONG" jail sentences and banned from the LSU campus permanently. Consequences should be severe and swift

Tailgate should be EQUITABLE and open to everyone in our DIVERSE community. I don't like the tone he is taking, as it doesn't seem INCLUSIVE.

If people can’t act civilized at tailgates, they should be removed…no matter who they are.

"Tailgate should be EQUITABLE and open to everyone in our DIVERSE community. I don't like the tone he is taking, as it doesn't seem INCLUSIVE."

I would hope this is sarcasm, but sadly it's probably not. Instead it's the mentality that everyone must bend the knee to the lowest common denominator...and like it.
