LSU returns to Tiger Stadium on Saturday night to face Arkansas for The Battle of The Golden Boot. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Calling the game will be Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, with Holly Rowe reporting from the sidelines.

Some thought Fowler and Herbstreit would call the Oregon vs. Colorado game this weekend, but the top commentator crew will be headed to Baton Rouge instead.

Herbstreit will head to Baton Rouge when ESPN College Gameday wraps up in the morning from South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame-Ohio State game.

You do know they fly private and out of all the smaller airports... he would fly from South Bend to Eugene... if that was what they wanted to do... but probably still would not make it

Fair enough, and yeah agreed it would be tight regardless.

Herbie and Chris love to come here for the food and the atmosphere at LSU….plus they are getting paid to take part…..great gig.

I'm sure Herbie gets paid well, but damn that's a long day at the office when you add in travel time from BR to home after the game.

I wouldn’t complain about that kind of long day even if they paid me in cheeseburgers. Sounds like a fun time.

Man, if I could get paid to talk about sports all day, and then get paid even more to go and talk about sports as they're shown, I would jump to it in a heartbeat.

Well they don’t work for CBS so that wasn’t a choice

They must be upset that they can’t call the Penn St/Iowa game. They do love going to Happy Valley at night.

I know everyone gives Herbie hell but he is actually one of the better commentators.
user avatar
He is without peer as an analyst, imo.

Agreed. Fowler is the weak link in that crew.

I’ll take it but I am surprised by this .

Could have been logistical. GameDay finishes at 11am in South Bend. You have to drive to Chicago, take a 3 hour ish flight to Portland if that's even available, then drive to Eugene. Just not possible to make a 230 game, for Herbie at least.

Colorado ran its course. They're about to lose 4 in a row and return from whence they came.
