SEC officiating headquarters is in Birmingham, AL. It'll never change.

Should have had an intentional grounding while in the endzone on Bama... That would have give us 2 points and I think a boost of motivation on offense. That was a BS no call, but doesnt surprise me

okay, you can have the 2 pts. 10 - 2, you still get crushed by a much better Alabama team.

Had not realized an 8 point loss was crushed.

Here's the thing, in my estimation. Coach Miles tried hard to be above all of this and wanted to win or lose with "class." That's fine. I like it, I'd like for LSU to always be able to take the high road. But after 12 years of it, he came across as soft and just took whatever was dealt. With this announcement, Coach Orgeron, knowing the outcome already, again in my view, is saying, LSU is not just going to go by quietly, offensive realities notwithstanding. LSU is going to fight for everything it can fight for, poor OL and scared Etling or not. It's another way of putting Birmingham on notice that LSU is watching and is going to comment on their business-as-usual with regard to officiating and deciding issues in accordance with what their favored schools want.

Miles sent in plays to the SEC office almost every week. It's what most coaches do.

I agree RedPop4, I was always a big Miles supporter, and I don't know what kind of actions he ever took the week after some of these bama games regarding questionable calls, but it's great to see Coach Orgeron attempt to get some of this explained.

Too much money riding on Alabama making it the CFP for LSU to win this game. When it became obvious Bama was struggling, the Refs came to the rescue. Let your eyes see the proof while the SEC Bank counts the money.

"Too much money riding on Alabama making it the CFP for LSU to win this game"..... the SEC champ will almost certainly make the playoff, so the SEC will get its money regardless. Take off the tinfoil hat.

There are two good points that are being made. BOTH are true. 1. Yes the offense should have done more and they have no one to blame for but themselves. 2. We are driving deep in bama territory and somehow a bama guy assaults our player, 2 others go in with him, and no one retaliated and and then offsetting, costing us at least 3 points. Then bama gets the ball and on third down we stop them but they call a bs roughing call. Those two calls changed the outcome. When a game is that close, those things matter.

The "bs" roughing call you refer to was on 2nd down. Cry if you like, but at least have your details right.

Aman, go back to your side. This is not a one time deal. This shite has happened for years. Remember PP's interception? We got beat by a better team....yes. But, let's call a spade a spade.....O is putting them in check and wanting an explanation. Right or wrong he's entitled to get such, being the head coach of the team affected. Call it crying or whatever you wish.

Ok second down. And yes it was total bs. And yes it changed the game.

what the SEC office did to Vandy against Auburn was even more glaring than what happened to us and directly cost Vandy the game

The only questions I have are the lack of intentional grounding on Alabama in the second quarter (which is completely overlooked IMO) and the lack of holding penalty on the Tide's touchdown. The personal foul fiasco was just fluky, but I think we all knew they would offset...although, how three personal fouls offsets one is beyond me.

Take away the touchdown. Does losing 3-0 feel better for some reason? He should stop wasting time like he did for the last two weeks. We have to score a point to win a game.

If we get a PF on that sideline play and advance 15 yds and kick a field goal to go up 3-0 in late 3rd the whole game might have changed. Plus the guy shoulda been chunked out of the game for targeting. The 3 holds on the Bama td puts them out of fg range more than likely.

Regarding the personal foul fiasco, it amazes me that an alabama player can completely destroy a Tiger player with a dirty hit in the back (before any of the shite that happened on the sideline even started) and the Refs call offsetting penalties. A couple years ago, LSU has the ball inside the ten yard line with a minute or so to go in the game, players from both teams are pushing and shoving each other, yet the only penalty is on a LSU lineman. Both of these instances hurt LSU, not bama. And there are people on here questioning if bama gets special treatment. LOL!

Austin sports talk today was going on and on about the bogus late hit against LSU that kept the TD Bama drive alive

"ustin sports talk today was going on and on about the bogus late hit against LSU that kept the TD Bama drive alive".... firstly, it was a late hit and White should've pulled back. Secondly, the late hit was on a 2nd down play. It didn't necessarily keep the drive alive.

It's a pretty simple explanation for the no-calls, Coach. You were playing Alabama.

biglego102 months
I'm sure the SEC will assemble a crack group of investigators and get to the bottom of this, with the same urgency we saw after Auburn 2006.

Not to mention number 10 cheap shot late hit on Etling

I still think this was the BIGGEST play in the game. The LSU QB was out of sorts the rest of the game and #10 got confidence he could do whatever he wanted and would not be penalized for it
user avatar
kjanchild102 months
I thought it was funny how the referee on their sideline spotted the ball and then moved it an extra yard after being yelled at!
user avatar
LC412000102 months
You are correct. This did happen. Anyone who was in the stadium while those watching on TV missed it. The play happened right in front of Coach Saban who gave the official an ear full and then the official moves the ball up. I thought he moved it about a yard and a half, making the third down become 3rd and 1 instead of 3rd and 3

Oh, we saw it on tv, as well. Interesting how the announcers made no mention of it.....

The same ref that threw a flag for a PF on a late hit against LSU, but when the bama defender threw our receiver to the ground well after he was out of bounds did not throw a flag...

Several calls need an "interpretation". That's his job as coach to submit them. That is why there is a process to do so.

Nothing will happen if the teams getting the shaft don't band together and force it. When the Big 12 schools had enough of Texas' shite they made something happen, aTm and the Huskers gave them the bird and walked. That conference lost a lot of luster. This Bama/Auburn thing is approaching the level of OU/Texas then all the rest. They've already diminished the SEC East and now they are working to diminish all the rest.

I am trying to decide if I enjoyed the Liberal melt or Coach O's melt better... Keep up the stereotype, Tigers!
