LSU will be sticking with Danny Etling as the team starting quarterback for the rest of the season, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

Orgeron met with the media Monday for his weekly press conference and said he would not start Myles Brennan over Etling to prepare for next season but added that freshman QB could see playing time in the remaining three games.

Brennan is better than Etling, so he should start. Hell, Mettenberger was our best option in 2011.

All Etling supporters(including me), he didn’t play well against Bama, but other than Flynn and Mettenberger, who has? All Etling haters, Brennan is not ready and shouldn’t start the rest of the season and chance injury. He will get reps in games and in practice against Aranda’s defense! That’s good experience! As for Etling, like him or not, he’s tough as they come and I’m proud to have him the last couple of years. That said, he’s a senior with 4 games left and then he’s gone. Let’s all get behind him and see this team finish strong!

Some of these comments really make wish we could just get rid of wifi in trailer parks in Louisiana.

I'm fine with this. From everything that I have heard, it seems that Etling has simply beaten Brennen out. If the 2 were close or maybe neck-and-neck, I would like for Brennen to get the nod. But if Etling is clearly better, and he gives this team a much better chance at winning football games. Then he should be the starter until that changes

Like he has a choice. Anybody that watched LSU knows Etling was better than his backup that played in the 4th.

This. Brennan was playing against a prevent defense. Of course the short routes were open. Not a knock against Brennan. Looking forward to his team next year.

Sounds reasonable to me...fact is, the most important thing to our fanbase is to win games now and from what I have seen, Etling is our best chance to do that. Brennan can get substantial playing time as long as he doesn't put us at risk of losing games that we would otherwise win.

oh ya, that makes no sense at al. let brennan start the rest of the year and put etling in if brennan struggles. the man isnt going to learn to read defenses and go through his receiver progressions by playing madden football at home. geesh. etling is only allowed to throw the bal 12-15 times a game because he isnt any good so brennan can hand the ball off just as good as etling since this is not going to be a pass attack offense by any stretch of the imagination. but no, we will be 6-7 games into next season while brennan is still learning to read defenses and go through his progressions, how stupid is that?

CEO owes it to the Seniors on this team (all of the players really but seniors esp) to put them in the best position possible to win every game THIS YEAR! I think some fans forget that these kids put in a helluva lot of work on and off the field and they deserve every win they can get. All of these people saying CEO should just give up on this year and get Brennan experience for next season apparently don't know too much about college football, this isn't the NFL where you groom a rookie by throwing them into situations there not ready for. If they start Brennan and he is obviously overwhelmed and they pull him for DE imagine what that might do to this kids head, it could ruin his confidence and maybe even his future as an SEC QB. This team still has a shot at 10 wins and a decent Bowl Game and the coaches owe it to them to to make the obvious decision at QB which is DE.

Yea because that high school highlight tape really tells you everything you need to know about playing college football.

i wasn't being a smart ass. we don't need above average qb play to win the next 3 games. brennan might not be above average either so may as well go with etling. brennan will just have to play a bit before we know one way or the other.

"If Etling is hot, he's our qb" Well that makes Brennan a LOCK to play

He's implying that Chark was bought and paid by Bama and that is why he looked bad during the game.

how? by going 9-3 and 6-2 in sec to finish the season? f outta here. EASSYYY WINS the rest of the season with Etling playing all of them. Were the 3rd best SEC team and will finish 2nd in our division. all we need is for auburn to lose against Georgia and Bama. And Miss St. to lose to Bama. And those things will happen.

I hope they redshirt Narcisse. Don’t waste him by playing him this late in the season. We need him moving forward. Let him compete with Brennan next year and something special is going to happen. They are two excellent qb’s. A good recruiting class and we’re right back in the mix! This program is headed in the right direction!

agree. but rest assured, there is no way in hell they burn his redshirt this year

Narcisse was confirmed redshirted earlier in the season because he struggled early. Brennan was the number 2 to Etling only because he had experience against playing in the SEC. From what I have heard, Brennan is light years above any of the other QBs when it comes to understanding Canada's playbook. That's why you see more movements and shifts when Brennan is in the game. He's just inexperienced, which is understandable considering he is only a freshman playing the most important position on the field. Brennan is the backup because the coaching staff wanted him to get the experience now because he will be the starter next year. Brennan doesn't enter the game because Etling struggles. He enters to get acclimated to the position he will be in all next year. I am a fan of Narcisse as well, but next year, barring injury, this will be Brennan's team.

So basically our #2 qb will have very little game experience going into next season. Great!

Very little game experience? He came in like 4 games this season

Not to worry. This guy is a stud! He’ll be ready!

Hurts @ Alabama didn't have any game experience last year, Fromm didn't have any when he first got into game this year. I could go on, and on...

I'm fine with that. If Etling slips or the game gets outta hand just make sure Brennan is getting snaps
