Question: If LSU has a fantastic offense in tomorrow's game, dose Canada stay?

I see an opportunity for a coup, one that even Alleva could get in on behind O's back to save his own arse [could even take credit for it when it proves successful]. Matt Canada and Dave Aranda could potentially collude on the prospect that Canada remains as OC if Aranda is promoted to HC. Even if O found out, what is he going to do, fire Aranda too? It would be a death sentence not only for Ed, but also Alleva. Such a move would force Alleva's hand if the public could get behind it, which is already taking place. We all know Aranda wants the job and probably hates working for a muppet.

So who replaces him?

Canada is from Indiana and a graduate of IU. He’s been successful at Wisconsin, Pitt and NC State. All Yankee schools. No offense, but we have a different culture in the South. Some people embrace it. Others don’t. I think Matt probably wants to head back home, and I’m sure he will get the opportunity. No hard feelings from me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No big deal. A million coaches out there looking for work. Just find the right fit and keep rolling! Remember, the program is bigger than any coach or any player! LSU is a national brand! Any top coordinator would love to come hear!

You mean he's not from Canada? Now I want him back.

I know this. There was an LSU offense thst looked pathetic in the 1st 3 or 4 games of the season. The Mississippi State game was horrendous. Then there was the Troy loss and the meeting of the minds. Everything seemed to improve after that. Now remember that Canada has a job hopping mentality. He was run off at NC State. It just looks like Canada does not fit in well with others on various coaching staffs at numerous programs. Remember that during the meeting with Aleva, Aranda was present as well as Orgeron and Canada. I am speculating here but Aranda may have had a problem with Canada himself. I know that the Defense was put in tough situations and stayed on the field a lot due to the lack of production by the LSU offense. Now, consider we haven't heard any complaints from Aranda or problems before or after that meeting. I'm just sayin'...

The "Canada has a job hopping mentality" is a false narrative. from 1998-2001 he had 2 employers. In 2012 he went to Wisconsin for Brett's last year there then decided NC State was a better landing spot than Arkansas. He did have issues at NC State and was fired. found immediate work at Pitt and did a fantastic job there, left for a better job at LSU, Pitt tried to keep him but knew they could not match LSU in a bidding war.

I am simply not a fan of Orgeron. I want so badly to be wrong..... however, I think his guy flames out badly in the next two or three years. Guy just seems like a complete moron.

I concur. Lsu fires one moron...replaces him with another. You can't make this up. Then they let the players retain (miles) then hire Bebe. Wow.

If Canada is so, so disloyal (as portrayed by all the kool-aid drinkers", why is he being allowed to coach a bowl game and earn a bonus? And, we're "trying to remain focused on ND and 10 wins". This guy played in a time of leather helmets.

Possibly to keep from paying the full amount owed on his contact? Kind of a hey instead of us releasing you before the bowl game and owe you so much more, just call the game and reduce what we owe you off the top... Maybe, maybe not.. Sounded good in my head.

Okay, so it has been announced he will not return next year right? The media is just trying to make a story hoping Coach O gives them something they can write about.. All I know about the situation is that we went through a 3 game period where we struggled. There was a meeting involving Canada after the Troy game and things seemed to get on track after. Who knows what happened? Whatever it was, it's not something they are going to tell the public. Honestly, I don't think it's that big of a deal.

And of course, the media tries to shift the focus on Canada and away from the game. I just hope Matt gives us 100% on game day. I’m sure he will.
