Terrible news out of the Washington Redskins camp who announced Friday afternoon that former LSU running back Derrius Guice will miss the 2018 season after suffering a torn ACL during Thursday nights preseason game.

The injury happened at the end of a 34-yard run that was called back because of a holding penalty.

I am glad when I played we did not have ACL's!

I guess that’s one reason to take the money after junior year... Gosh but you never know, do you? Bless him and wish him a speedy recovery.

Man this sucks. Dude has a real chance to be one of the best. Hope he comes back with the same fire he had at LSU.

Get rid of Pre-season. Not worth it.

Never understood why people say this. If he had gotten hurt week 1 of the regular season, would it make it any better?

If he had gotten hurt week 1 of the regular season, would it make it any better? Depends how you split hairs. If it had happened in week 1, at least it happened in a game that actually meant something. I feel horrible for Guice right now.

Damn the bad luck - they can do so much more with ACLs now than they could even 15, 20 years ago, but for a running back it is a very tough (and somewhat unlikely) road to full recovery. Best wishes to a great Tiger.

A major factor in ACL tears is if the MCL and/or Meniscus is torn as well. If it's just the ACL, he'll be back to 100% next season. That's what I'm hoping for. FYI - James Andrews is the team doctor.
