Dennis Johnson Is Joining Baylor's Staff With Dave Aranda

As we reported earlier this week, there was a chance that LSU defensive analyst Dennis Johnson could be joining Baylor's staff as Dave Aranda's new defensive line coach.

That report became a reality on Friday evening when multiple sources confirmed that Johnson has officially arrived in Waco.

Johnson becomes the second LSU assistant to join Baylor's staff this week as offensive analyst Jorge Munoz is also headed to Waco as the Bears' new wide receiver coach.

Johnson played at LSU from 2009-11 and became a grad assistant working with the Tigers' defensive line from 2014-2015.

He was promoted to outside linebacker coach in 2016 and was named defensive line coach in 2019 but was unable to coach after suffering a double knee injury during fall camp last year.

Ed Orgeron hired longtime NFL defensive line coach Bill Johnson to take over the DL coaching duties while Dennis was out this past season.

If I recall correctly, Pelini’s last 3 defenses for LSU were top 5 in the country. He was hired by Nebraska when he was still our DC.

LSU players think highly of Bo Pellini. But, that fourth down against Arkansas still bothers me. Without that conversion, we didn't have to grovel that we were undefeated in regulation with the voters. 2019 season has erased my feelings about 2012 natty, I can ignore some foibles too.

WTF....now i hear Aranda is trying to get our biggest recruit of 2021, 5 star LB raesjon davis to de-commit from LSU so he can commit to Baylor.....This is ridiculous....someone needs to check aranda yesterday....this kind of poaching of coaches and recruits should be a violation of NCAA rules or somethin....if that doesnt work lsu fans should threaten him or let him know this is not acceptable cuz it is just completely disrespectful to coach O and the university and every true LSU fan

I agree with keitron. It seems as though Dave is trying to stock pile his staff/roster by depleting ours. Not cool bro. You're in Texas now not Louisiana. You're in the Big 12 now, not the SEC. You moved on from our program.... good for you. In the meantime, leave our coaches/committed recruits alone.

Kinda a chicken shite move to pull coaches from the school you just came from. I remember watching that Saban and Belicheck hbo show and this is what pissed Saban off the most about his assistants getting head coaching positions and taking his assistants.

It happens in other areas too. When some LSU administrators (not sports) got jobs with other schools, they also took some of their able/favorite assistants with promotions. I have seen them happen in university administration, finance, and IT. It could be happening in other areas too. Nothing strange here.
