Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
During Dave Aranda's introductory press conference at Baylor on Monday, the former LSU defensive coordinator had nothing but high praise for Ed Orgeron.
quote:

"I have such great respect and love for Coach O," Aranda said. "When I called Coach O and told him that I was taking the Baylor job, he was so happy for me."

"I told him that I have learned more from him, than any other coach I have been around. His story of hardships, learning from those hardships, applying lessons learned, having success, and then sharing it with a group of men... There isn't a better story than that and I'm so blessed to be a part of that."

Still don't know why you would leave a man that's willing to give up part of his salary to give more to you, to instead go on to more headaches and responsibilities. Guess he couldn't make it on $2 million plus each year.

Really ? you do not understand why a HC is better and part of the climb to better things for him and his family

I haven't seen Aranda's new salary posted anywhere, but they were paying Rhule $4.1 million. How do you blame the guy for accepting a job offer that will pay him an extra $2 million a year? Not everybody wants to be an assistant coach for life...most have the goal of being the head coach somewhere eventually.

It’s a big step forward in his career you can’t blame the guy.

Hate the loss, but best wishes. Hope it all works out for him (and his family).

Aranda has accomplished probably what he wanted as DC, a National Championship. Now he wants to be a HC with the same goal. I think most of us can understand that. Thanks and good luck Coach Aranda!

Class act. Hope he does well. Just about every coach dreams about getting to that HC spot at a big program.

What did you expect him to say?

He could have given a canned answer, rather than the "from the heart" answer he gave.

I had never heard Dave Aranda talk in all his years at LSU

Rooting for him! Would love to see Aranda and Baylor coming out of the Big XII for post season play instead of the same ole Chokelahoma every year.
