I just hope LSU can stay focused after this. LSU still has a trap game this weekend and a serious challenger at the end of the schedule before the SECCG (sorry hog fans-- I'm already counting that game as a "W").

scenario 1: LSU goes undefeated and either Oregon or Utah is the Pac 12 champ with 1 loss. Bama pounds sand.Scenario 2: UGA wins the SEC, securing a spot,LSU falls to 4. Bama pounds sand. LSU seems to be the only team in the top 4 that could survive a late season loss and stay in.

Agreed, but if Oregon beats Utah, the committee could still play the common opponent card (Auburn), meaning they could still get Bama in as long as Bama beats Auburn. I think you're spot-on, though, about what happens if UGA wins the SEC-- LSU wouldn't fall under Bama, even if Bama wins out.

If Oregon wins out and is the PAC 12 champ with a 12-1 record, I think the committee should put more emphasis on their wins (12 in a row and a win over top 10 ranked Utah) than their one loss (last second loss to Auburn, neutral site, first game of the year).

It's very simple. We have 5 opponents in front of us... doesn't matter who they are. Line em' up because this team isn't backing down. When it's all said and done this team will have redefined LSU football.

So here's the scenario. With Alabama sitting at number 5 all they have to do is win our last three games of the season to get into the playoff. That's it. For Georgia or LSU to advance to the playoff they must when the remaining schedule and then play each other in an Sec Championship Game. I guarantee you the loser of that game will be out of any playoff. It just looks like the road for Alabama is much easier than it is for either LSU or Georgia. This scenario seems awful familiar to me. It's like I've seen it somewhere before.

Bama to the Outback Bowl to get arse-raped by Penn State. $aban quits.

That's 100% false. A one-loss PAC XII champion will jump Bama. It's also possible that OU could get in if they win out and win the Big XII championship.

Bama actually needs LSU to lose before the SECCG for any hope of jumping over LSU, even if they win out. If LSU's first loss is to UGA in the SECCG, LSU will be the highest ranked 1-loss team, and with a head-to-head win over a 1-loss Bama, there's no way the committee could justify ranking LSU under Bama, so Bama's only hope from an SEC perspective is for LSU to win. Bama also needs to beat Oregon to win the PAC so they can push the common opponent argument and hope it's enough to sway the committee. I think if OU wins out, their wins against Texas and Baylor plus the conf championship will outweigh Bama's wins against A&M and Auburn. I think Utah will have a solid argument, as well, with comparable wins over Arizona State and Oregon, as well as a conf championship.

Wow, artful way to make sure the gumps back into the playoffs. Put UGA at 4 with 1 loss they get beat by LSU in the title game a voila, 'bama backs in. Hate those fricks

There are still a lot of games left to be played. Don’t give the committee too much credit.

Alabama is not just going to chill out at 4 or 5 while everyone else around them actually plays. Oregon wins out, they jump Bama. If Utah wins, they might too, but Oregon definitely will.

Always a Tiger here, but very proud of the young men who represent the state of Georgia where I currently reside. UGA Bulldogs, it's good to see you in the top four, but my Tigers are gonna beat you down in that new stadium in Atlanta in four weeks.

If Oregon and Utah remain at 1 loss the winner of the PAC 12 Championship will leap Bama. Winner of Georgia LSU will go.

Any of Oregon, Utah, Minny, Penn St, Okie, and/or Baylor will pass Bama if they keep winning. A non-division winning team will NOT make the top 4 if there is ANY other choice possible. Won't happen.

Oregon or Utah should jump Bama if they keep winning. Or Bama could outright get beat in Auburn. Fingers crossed.
