The Florida Gators announced five positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday afternoon and have paused all team workouts ahead of Saturday's game vs. LSU.

The UF Health and the athletic department's sports medicine staff are expected to re-evaluate the situation on Wednesday. Per FloridaGators.com:
quote:

The University of Florida football team has experienced an increase in positive COVID tests among players this week. Out of an abundance of caution, team activities are paused as of Tuesday afternoon.

Head coach Dan Mullen has been in communication with football players and their parents, and I have had conversations with the Southeastern Conference office, last week's opponent Texas A&M, and this week's opponent LSU.

These circumstances will be re-evaluated by UF Health and the athletic department's sports medicine staff Wednesday.
If Saturday's game is postponed, both schools could possibly reschedule on December 12 which is the weekend before the SEC Championship. LSU's other bye week on November 7 is when Florida plays Georgia.

For what? A virus that doesn’t kill anyone in their age group? I’m going by the CDC
user avatar
Nolaughingmatter63 months
A virus that does kill some in their age group, especially when obese. A virus that they may bring home to kill grandma and grandpa and further the spread throughout their community killing a significant number of at risk people.

The VAST majority of people who contract covid show mild to no symptoms at all regardless of age group. The number of deaths that we use is padded as there is a financial incentive for covid positives. We have no idea how many people have actually died from covid but most sources agree that anywhere from 15-30% of the numbers we have are total bullshite. The number of deaths in people who had no comorbidities, in any other scenario, would represent a statistical anomaly. The only reason we feel so strongly about it is because no other virus in the history of man has been sensationalized in the media like this one.

Wow, what an incredible insult Higgy. Would you feel better if I said kiss? Made out fit the sentence better, but I’ll be sure to look through my trusty thesaurus next time, so I can look like a big boy. Don’t be such a bitch, it was a joke.

LSU can have some of their own positive tests at that point. JBE can easily make that happen. 2 can play that game.
