During the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday morning, Frank Wilson labeled quarterback Garrett Nussmeier as "doubtful" for the home finale vs. Western Kentucky on Senior Night.

"Garrett's situation hasn't changed much since last week," Wilson said. "Those same issues are there for him. He's probably doubtful. He was around yesterday, did some things in individual. But I would say he's doubtful."

Later on the call, Wilson was asked if they had considered having Nussmeier suit up for his final game in Tiger Stadium and possibly getting him into the game to take an "honorary snap."

"That's interesting, we have not thought about that," Wilson responded. "That may be something we consider. That's a great idea, but at this point, we had not planned any of those things. But thank you for that. That's duly noted. No, seriously, that's something we can consider."

Jamie Howard came out in jeans and got a standing ovation—no reason we can’t do the same for Nuss no matter how he’s played this year.

So many so-call fans dogging this dude. He would probably tell you first it hasn't been a good year, but he stayed here 5 years and should say something. Most would have left after year 2. He deserves accolades on senior night.

"probably doubtful" is an amazing turn of phrase

I hope he gets a standing ovation form the crowd there Saturday. He had a rough year, but he is purple & gold to the bone.

If he is P&G, he should donate some of his NIL $ back.

Was this really all Nuss’s fault?

Everything starts from the top then comes down.

To regress that much, I’m very certain he was injured and with an apathetic coach, that attitude trickled to all the players

Nuss will probably be in the league for 8-10 years and then go into coaching. No reason to bag on him now. Im sure that no one is more disappointed in how this year turned out than him. From Heisman hopeful to the scorn of message board douche bags. He is a Christian and a Tiger and I’m rooting for him. The rest of you can sttdb.

Let him suit up and go out there to take the final victory formation snap.

Nuss deserves a standing ovation for waiting his time in an era that it just doesn’t happen anymore. Hate he had to play his last year behind the worst OL I’ve ever seen and hurt.
