Three-star offensive guard Kimo Makaneole from Niceville, FL announced Monday night that he has de-committed from Florida State and is reopening his recruitment.

The 6-4, 285-pound prospect from Niceville High School holds an offer from and LSU and visited Baton Rouge for the Ole Miss game. Many expect Makaneole's final decision to come down to Florida State or LSU.

Offensive linemen remain a top priority for the coaching staff to complete the 2021 signing class. LSU only has one offensive lineman signed for 2021 in four-star prospect Garrett Dellinger.

6-4 285 won’t last long as an OL in the SEC

He doesn’t have to stay at 285. He’s probably 17 yrs old. We recruited 205lb LBs out of high school all the time

Lol ... I gained 25 lbs on accident in my first year of college. I’m sure if he tries he can do 30+.

That was actually a thoughtful, genuine post he composed.

"Respect my decision" = "please don't me mean to me" Guess what? Don't tell a bunch of people you promise one thing, then go back on that promise a year later. You don't get to walk away and expect freedom from criticism.

Contracts aren’t solid until they’re signed, right?

Seems to Be LSU's speciality bring in 3 star guards and move them to tackle. We cant seem to get elite guys on the Oline. Frustrating when Clemson, bama , Ohio st get them by the boatload every year.

Flobserver. He played tackle in high school. He is 6'4 but is thin and moves well

Don’t base everything on stars. Kid has been under the radar. Heading by stars are over rated. Ask Damien Lewis who played for LSU and now plays for Seattle Seahawks.

Ok kids. The whole respect my decision is not needed. If you want to look elsewhere, just say so. If people don't like it, frick them.

Plus, he is de-committing weeks in advance. Not an FSU fan, but gives another kid a shot at playing there.
