As expected, Hahnville running back Pooka Williams sticks with his commitment to Kansas and signed with Jayhawks Friday morning over LSU and Nebraska.

Williams committed to Kansas in February and received his offer from LSU this past September. The 5-10, 170-pound all-purpose back is rated the No. 11 APB in the country and the No. 16 overall player from the state of Louisiana for the class of 2018, according to Rivals.

For more info on Williams, visit his profile page on our Recruiting Tracker.

My thing is this I want to see every Louisiana prospect make it and I've seen this kid Play and he is a special talent. But his football career is basically over because he's a small RB going to a school with a swiss cheese OL and no recruits coming in to rectify the problem Pooka should've done his homework. First of all he's not an every down back he should have went to a program with an established RB where he could be a specialty RB. I really hope this kid has to go the JUCO route so he can have a chance to think about his decision and be able to pick a better situation for himself. It don't have to be LSU but anywhere but Basketball U Kansas. Good luck Kid!

"Pooka should've done his homework." Not sure if this was intentional or not but you sure hit the nail on the head.

Great talent and huge potential. Don’t think he had papers to sign from anyone but KU because other schools, including LSU, weren’t willing to gamble one of 25 precious spots on a kid who can prove he has academic eligibility to qualify. If he has grades, KU’s gamble pays off. If not, it’s not like KU passed up another high quality talent to make that offer.

I wish nothing but the very best for this kid! Hope he tears it up for KU! Would have loved him in P&G, but the risk was real. That 25 player cap means you can't take a risk like that if you have other players wanting in. I was actually selfish, wishing he'd go JUCO and come to LSU in 2 years, but here's hoping he blows up big in Kansas!

You're sick dude. Kid don't pick LSU and now he can't make it because of grades. I would love to see LSU get all states best but unfortunately they can't. Sometimes I don't blame them for leaving.

other then being a local guy and having a really cute nickname, the guy wouldnt add anything for LSU and just take up a roster spot from a player that could help us win more games.

I hope he likes to hunt large white tail deer and pheasants because there’s not much left to do in Kansas besides that.

And what is there to do in Baton Rouge? Gator hunting? Or maybe become a welder on the rigs in Louisiana?
