Less than a week after decommitting from LSU, four-star quarterback Feleipe Franks from Crawfordville, FL (Wakulla HS) announced Sunday night that he has committed to Florida.

Franks announced the news via Twitter:

Franks is the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 10 overall player from the state of Florida for the class of 2016, according to ESPN.

LSU currently has 17 commitments for the 2016 class.

This is why we need an early signing period. This kid strung us along for months and now we are left without another option. I know he's just a kid but this has got to stop.

There is such a thing as too tall. I was shaky on him to begin with.

Just so you know Franks has a want to play QB. “If they were recruiting me and they told me they were going to give the ball to Leonard or the other running backs 75 percent of the time, it might be hard to get a recruit at the receiver position or quarterback position.” Dupre

@LSU FSU Grad, grow up. He's from Florida and LSU has been dismal when it comes to QBs. Going to Florida isn't the path of least resistant. That's retarded. It's not like he's choosing some small school in a weak conference.

There seems to be a force field around Tiger Stadium that keeps quality QB's from coming here. Let's examine the force field.

This kid had been a shaky commitment since he "committed" to LSU in the first place. Tiger bait!

There are other QB's out there-just listen next time a kid who comes from a small Louisiana high telling you he wants to play QB and not try to get him to play another position!!!

Aw cmon. He'll probably end up pretty good, early playing time and McElwain seems to be good with QBs. It was the smarter choice for him. They don't all have to come to LSU.

Clearly doesn't have the heart to compete other than where he sees it easiest today. That's ok. LSU will survive. I suspect he won't amount to much as is often the case when players make choices based on path of least resistance.
