Elite five-star power forward Emmitt Williams from Lehigh Acres, FL announced Friday morning that he has committed to LSU, chosing the Tigers over Oregon, Florida, and Kansas.

Williams, a 6-7, 215-pound prospect from Oak Ridge HS in Orlando is rated the No. 8 power forward in the country and the No. 4 overall player from Florida for the class of 2018, according to 247 Sports.

He joins five-star power forward Naz Reid, four-star point guard Ja'Vonte Smart and four-star power forward Darius Days who have already signed with LSU.

With the addition of Williams, LSU now has the No. 3 class in the country, behind Duke and Oregon, according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.

Man, that truly is a stellar recruiting class y’all have assembled in Red Stick. LSU basketball is about to become nationally relevant big time.

Basketball recruiting is easier to turn around than football recruiting, so I'm not surprised. Will Wade is eccentric... and the recruits saw Ben Simmons come here and go n. 1 overall in the draft. It doesn't matter that much where you go to school...Plus LSU has some pedigree in Shaq, Pete.

Bringing in some top talent which will reflect on the court in the next 1-2 years. We will have a great starting 5 now just need a couple of quality bench players and this team is gonna roll...

I see that Emmitt was arrested in the fall. What came of this? Is this why LSU and not a blue blood commit? Sexual battery i think. With the news at MSU currently, I’m cautiously excited about a kid with “baggage”

Man we have made the big time. I think WW can keep this up and build this momentum sky high. With that the Pmac will be packed, and crazy once again. It's happening. Now if people would just get behind our FB HC he could do the same thing.

We would be being CEO if he would actually do what he says he would do.

Wouldn't be shocked to see the NCAA come pay a visit. There is no reason for a program like LSU or an average coach like wade to be pulling in classes so good unless $ is involved.

Is LSU cheating? Just seems odd that a bunch of badass players want to play there.

Would we be complaining if it was the number 3 recruiting class in football?

Long story short, yes.

They clearly understand that Coach Wade knows basketball. They like what he brings to the table for their future development. They want to win and then be millionaires. In that order.

Oh, sweet baby Jesus!!! I'm enjoying this year but I'd be lying if I said I'm not looking forward to next. WW + recruits = nightmare for SEC. Ready to bitch slap Calapari & Kentucky.

Wow, Wade putting together some serious talent!! I think he can coach up these guys, from what I have seen this year. Let's get the PMAC roaring again. I was in school during the Rudy Macklin days (late 70s) and it used to be awesome during the games at home!!

We need to practice packing the pmac this season in preparation for what's coming next season. Don't want to look like a bunch of noobs in there with these complaints I'm seeing on the rant about people telling others in front of them to please sit down .
