Long-time LSU supporter and Baton Rouge businessman Richard Lipsey has been very vocal about his displeasure with the LSU leadership this week, calling for the removal of President F. King Alexander and Athletic Director Joe Alleva.

Lipsey, who was the former chairman of the Louisiana Board of Regents from 2016-2018, cited multiple issues that have been handled incorrectly by LSU leadership in the past, which includes the recent decision to suspend basketball head coach Will Wade.

Lipsey voiced his opinions on a PutLouisianaFirst.com, a website for a foundation that he started.
quote:

"Will Wade is the third basketball coach Joe Alleva has hired in just 10 years. Clearly it would be viewed nationally as insanity if Alleva were to continue as Athletic Director if Will Wade returns to coaching at LSU. In the much more likely event that LSU is now forced to hire a fourth basketball coach in eleven years, it would be viewed as more insane for there not to be a new Athletic Director in place to make the next hire. Either way, only the ultimate in denial will keep Alleva at his job, so there should be no delay in replacing him immediately with a respected interim like Skip Bertman. We cannot stop there. We must immediately remove the leadership of LSU responsible for and directing Alleva’s actions. As important as our Tigers are to us, the damage King Alexander is doing goes well beyond sports."

...

"We call on the new leadership at the LSU Board of Supervisors to quickly remove King Alexander and Joe Alleva form their current positions and replace them with nationally recognized interims while appropriate permanent leadership is selected. Many qualified folks are available for these interim roles. Whatever the choices are for interims, both Alexander and Alleva must now be removed."
During his monthly radio call-in show Wednesday afternoon, Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards was asked about Lipsey's comments. Here's what he had to say, according to Tiger Rag:
quote:

“I think it’s very unfortunate all the things that are going on around the basketball program right now,” Edwards said. “They’ve not had an opportunity to sit down with the coach and have him answer questions … It’s really hard under those circumstances to disagree with what the administration has decided to do.”

“I’m not prepared to echo what he is saying with respect to the current leadership at LSU,” Edwards said, “and I’ll just leave it at that.”

It will happen. If I am Bama (once I get off of my cousin and hit the bong), no way I am not taking this better than average/not perfect coach. At that point, I hope Joe is gang whipped by the track team

His opponents should make this a campaign issue. JBE may have inherited FKing&Alleva, but he appointed ClownShowJamesWilliams as Chair of the Board. Insofar as ClownShow's fingerprints are all over this thing, and JBE has been openly supportive, JBE owns this mess. The new governor needs to clean house.

honesty is an important quality in a man, if someone would like to speak with me i have no problem with that, im not even sure im understanding the threat entirely correctly, i've spent 3 days trying to keep my children from running off with my woman who now seems to be cold af twoard me. i know i've been betrayed, but i donot have the whole picture and will not answer questions i havent perceived. i honestly didnt not know i was apointed until last night at which time i started researching how to be succesful and what my place currently is. thats what i'm trying to figure out now. not sure who the hell is doing/saying what at this point and it keeps getting worse by what im reading. dont wanna hear anything else about fbi involvement, flipping is not an option. was betrayed by 3 year solidified coach.

He is an arse clown who will get face planted and stomped in the next election. This is no different than that dummy voicing opinions about coaches salaries during the last budget crisis. IT IS NONE OF HIS DAMN BUSINESS HOW MUCH TAF PAYS COACHES ABOUT THAT STATE PAY. Like every other “General Fund” dirty arse politician, he wants his greasy hands on TAFs money. He has ZERO control over TAF or its budget. TAF needs to pull funding from the ADs office to squeeze the shite out of Alleva and Alexander. That’s how the hell you end this crap show.

JBE needs to go just like Alleva and FKing. JBE has been in office for 3 years and did NOTHING but cuts for education. Now that he is coming up on an election, he FINALLY sets up a MINIMAL raise for teachers to TRY and raise VOTES!! Won’t work JBE!

When a state celebrates and is proud of its corrupt political history and the way things are done down here....do not expect anything to change.

Why was this a non issue until some media hack decided he wanted his 15 minutes of fame? Buckling to crooked media is not a good look for LSU administration

Lipsey doesn't mince words. And JBE wasn't exactly giving his stooges a ringing endorsement. The wheels are turning. Adios Joe.
