Former MLB pitcher and LSU legend Ben McDonald was seriously injured this weekend after falling 25 feet out of a deer stand. Per WGNO:
quote:

McDonald, 57, shared a video of himself in a hospital bed on social media Friday, with a caption reading, “This is what a severe concussion looks and sounds like.”

In the video, McDonald appears confused and asks what happened. Someone off-camera explains that the chain or strap of his deer stand broke.

“Apparently I fell out of a deer stand 25 feet up,” McDonald said in his post, adding that he suffered a concussion and two cracked vertebrae. He also thanked the doctors and everyone who reached out with support.

No safety harness Ben?

I bet strap that secures the harness to the tree was dry rot. That's what happens a lot of times if you don't place it every couple years.

I had two patients that fell out of dry-rotted deer stands and sustained concussions. Both did well. Check your stands, baws.
