Maybe a decathalon winner should be considered if we are going strictly athlete. He listed great players in their sports. Jim Thorpe was good at everything. Won the pentathlon and decathlon in the Olympics. Played pro baseball, football and basketball.

Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Sam Snead All another sports are compromised, rigged for profits and scripted. You can not fake it on the golf course. There are no refs controlling golf tournaments. It is the most pure sport there is.
