I can relate, just found out I had Prostate Cancer back in September, underwent 2 months of radiation treatments, now I go back to Oncologist next month for re-testing to determine if the spread has stopped or not. All I can tell people is to get blood work done every year, determine your PSA levels, never think you are too young or it can't happen to you! I believe Alonzo Mourning would tell you the same, he went through this last year as well.

It’s not the finger that will save you, it’s a yearly blood test called a psa. Your general practitioner can order it. If you’re over 50, it’s a must!

Don't blow off exams. Get the finger wave at least once per year. It's easy to detect early.

Actually it’s not as effective as a simple PSA blood test done with a wellness check

Make your doctor start testing you now. Even if it's early.

This one will sneak in your arse like a ninja. No symptoms until it's further along. Like the poster below said, get a PSA done. Never too early to start.

Good advice. Lost one friend to this two years ago just a couple of months before his 60th. He always took great care of his physical health, but he had a particularly aggressive form that had metastasized before they found it. Have another friend, roughly age 58 now who had not had a physical in a very long time until a couple of years ago. Finally had one, and his PSA was in the hundreds (supposed to be under something like 4); at that point, it was already in his bones. Get your annual PSA!

My doctor said that if a man lives long enough, they'll ALL have it eventually.

54 years old! Had a fusion biopsy done last Thursday! I was at the Frisco tourney Saturday with the anticipated side effects. Get an annual PSA done!!!

Does this mean he'll once again be coaching from a hospital bed?
