ESPN's Alex Scarborough is reporting that former Arizona, Michigan, and West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez visited Alabama on Monday.

Rodriguez almost ended up with the Alabama head coaching job when he was getting ready to leave West Virginia but the Crimson Tide hired Nick Saban instead.

Rodriguez ended up leaving West Virginia for Michigan but was fired after three seasons in Ann Arbor. He became the head coach at Arizona in 2010 but was fired last January after six years Tuscon.

His visit to Tuscaloosa could likely be for a job on Alabama's staff as an assistant. We'll see what happens.

That’s nice of Saban. Hiring fired HC’s to go be an assistant on his football team, so they can get a taste of success

Locksley to Maryland. Richrod the OC. How ironic. Turns down the head coach gig...only to become the OC. I doubt Rita will sway him this time.

This is the guy that needs to be LSU's offensive coordinator. Enough of this pop warner offense.

Saban is getting ready just incase Locksley gets the Maryland job. He's always 3 steps ahead of everyone else.
