In a recent story conducted by the New York Times, Cooper Lee, an Alabama basketball team manager, admitted that he was in Brandon Miller's car during January 15th's deadly shooting, not freshman player Kai Spears...
quote:

"I can confirm that I was the passenger in Brandon Miller's car at the time of the shooting," Lee told the Times.

Lots of idiots in the comments here who have no idea why this statement was made. The NY Times and other publications falsely identified a walk-on player as the person in the vehicle and that player is suing for defamation. If there's a "fall guy" here, it's the fake news media.

Was the girls identity ever released and was she just an innocent bystander or was she hanging out with them like the UGA
incident mgr chick?

Seems like team mgrs are bad influences in these good athletic kids.

That entire program should be reset. There's plenty of good basketball coaches out there.

Nothing is going to happen, unfortunately. I agree the HC and anyone else with this knowledge should be fired. We're talking about someone losing their life and Alabama is more worried about its reputation and protecting its players!

This is billshit. I hope the fall money that Bama is paying this dude is enough for his entire life.

Months later, WHY would that dude talk to the NY Times about this?

Because they specifically said a walk-on player was in the car... and they're getting sued for it.

This is accepted behavior in Bama, signed Nate Oats.
