Baton Rouge Kingfish hockey returns in one week!

You can save a good bit of money by buying tickets at the box office onsite prior to the game and avoid the Ticketmaster fee craziness, but the Kingfish return against the Monroe Moccasins on the 16th! Puck drop at 7pm.
Come out and enjoy hockey under a competent ownership group, with a team that has plenty of ECHL/SPHL talent playing at the FPHL level, and let's pack the River Center!
Coach Soper has done a hell of a job stacking the roster, particularly raiding the Knoxville Ice Bears

i miss our old lafayette icegators. was a great run in ECHL from 95 to 05. then some time in SPHL but it was crap quality.

Things have changed quite a bit. You have guys from the FPHL now signing two-way contracts with NHL systems at the AHL/ECHL level with many others getting AHL camp tryouts. ECHL level guys coming down, and the SPHL/FPHL in a battle for single A level control.
Is it NHL level hockey? No, of course not, but that does not take away the fun of it all.
The Kingfish raised the prices a bit in comparison to the Zydeco, but such is life these days, unfortunately. It's still a great time being around hockey regardless.

it was great when we had the icegators, kingfish and brass. 3 louisiana ECHL teams. we packed the cajundome. 9k fans a game. set records.

I'd love to see that come back, but unfortunately - NOLA doesn't have anywhere willing with ice capability. The Cajundome doesn't want hockey back, for whatever reason.
The Fed is currently doing a cross-country expansion, we might see quite the influx of talent and legitimacy in the league (especially with other initiatives in motion).
I'd love nothing more than to see the Brass or IceGators return.

No doubt, Kingfish. Noah Giesbrecht alone will ensure that over Bailey Stephens and Ed Coffey.
Better ownership group dedicated to winning. Better coaching (Jimmy Soper is in his first year as a coach, but has a very good history in leadership roles in Knoxville). Better talent (Jimmy brought in quite a few dudes from Knoxville).
There is a visa issue with the FPHL that they think will resolve with Immigration soon, but the talent on this roster is truly there.
EDIT: I'd hope to see Willie Lavalliere back soon. He and Noah would be one hell of a combo, both with ECHL talent in the crease.
