The LSU nation needs to keep the faith. I know most of y'all are disappointed but give JJ a little leeway since this is his first season. The UNT board used to question Johnny's X's and O's coaching ability but in the end the UNT nation was more than satisfied with JJ results. JJ has a knack for recruiting talent and once he does you'll see he's a better X's and O's coach than you originally thought. I've seen JJ take his share of "T's" for his team and players so maybe he wanted to get used to SEC ref's before going toe to toe with league ref's.

JJ will be coaching LSU in the SEC for a long time. JJ may have had to focus on recruiting restoration at the expense of coaching I don't know. Now that JJ has address recruiting issues he'll have a true off season to coach current roster and new recruits prior to next BB season. One thing Johnny will do is recruit quality players that can shoot and make FT's. The year JJ left UNT our team FT percentage was around or above 80 percent.

Given time JJ will elevate LSU's basketball program and far exceed most of LSU Alumni's expectations of him as a coach!!!

LSU has a bright future with JJ at the helm. Hope y'all get into the NIT.

Understand your frustration with CJJ. Always referred to him a JJ on gomeangreen.com message board. Sometimes JJ players can be inconsistent. Happened at UNT and some of us were frustrated also. JJ like Rudy T. of Houston Rockets fame would let his players play sometimes what is/was inconsistently, but in doing so gave his players the opportunity to learn, mature, and play together. CJJ isn't one to try to micro manage his players on court play. This get frustrating. Players have to learn how to play together and mature on court. When LSU gets to the Dance and they will in pressure packed situation these players are going to have to play with maturity, hart and will to win. CJJ isn't going to be able to call a TO in every pressure packed situation to teach maturity and will to win. It's better his players learn how to do this during the season than the SEC tournament or at the Dance.

Don't worry to much CJJ has the uncanny ability to have his teams ready and peaking right at Sunbelt/SEC tournament time and for the Dance. Keep the faith, CJJ will have LSU ready to play come tournament time and his team will preform past your expectations. At least that's what happen for many years at UNT.

Truth is if LSU doesn't want CJJ as a fan I'd gladly have him back at UNT. Our current coach after JJ is running our program back into the ash heap!!! UNT BB has long success of absolute dismal failure, CJJ changed all that, now we're backsliding into the pit of Hell!!!

Have faith in CJJ, he won't let you or LSU down in the long run. Can't say LSU will be national champion this year, but give CJJ the time he needs and he'll make the LSU nation proud!!!!

Folks...don't worry. Over time CJJ will recruit excellent FT ball players. CJJ had UNT players shooting as a team like in the 70% range before he left. Josh White a UNT former PG from LA shot like over 80% from FT and was like ranked second in the NCAA his Jr. and maybe senior yrs at UNT.

You guys are Blessed to have CJJ. Our AD hired some clown assist. coach from MU named Benford, he can't coach and now the team that CJJ built and our program at UNT is being taken back to the "Stone Age".

I'm just going to have to be a new LSU fan because of CJJ and walk away from UNT Men's BB. UNT's athletic director made terrible hiring decision with coach Benford and won't fire him. Sad because CJJ team Benford inherited had such great potential with the right coach at the helm. CJJ was that coach, but LSU wisely hired him away from UNT. CJJ always said he wouldn't leave UNT unless LSU came calling, they did, the rest is history!!!

TCU hired Trent just to get JJ the hell out of town. Recruiting within a 50 mile radius of JJ has been bloody. The only school within the Dallas Metroplex to do any good was UTA. I don't know how UTA did so well either. TCU and SMU had to do something otherwise they were going to suck and maybe still suck for the next decade.

Since TCU hired TJ they're guaranteed to suck for the next 10 yrs. for sure. I have some respect for Larry Brown so I can't write him off yet, but so far his recruits have sucked and he kick of 4 or 5 current players from his SMU squad.

Come on...where are all the "our AD didn't get the name coach we wanted, so we had to settle for JV coach like JJ". Oh, he's bring a bunch of JV assistant coach's with him. Oh, how much are we paying JJ and his assistants. As much as our last gas can TJ. Our AD is out of his mind for overpaying JJ and his staff.

I told you JJ would win almost all in the LSU nation over. JJ is going this rather quickly. Really proud of our old coach.

I'm telling you JJ pulled in late signee's at UNT on many occasions. Both of these guy's look above average and should do LSU well. If LSU needs "bigs" then JJ and Co. are on it. You can bet JJ will pull one in. If the "big's" out there to be had aren't LSU or SEC talent then JJ will bite the bullet and take the tigerdroppings heat and not sign a big. Then he'll figure out how to play around deficit and wait until next year to recruit a big man.

Where did the rumor get started that JJ was going to bring our JUCO transfer Center "Odoh" to LSU. The only player JJ might be able to bring over is 6'7" Swingman Justin Patton, but I doubt Patton could even play at LSU. Patton was a transfer to UNT from Grambling, but had grade and eligibility issues. Patton's a good player so not say he couldn't play at LSU based on talent. Past that as far as I know all of our other players are locked up on scholarship unless they want to sit out a year. If they do that then they miss their year to play with Tony Mitchell before he turns PRO!!!

Can JJ recruit? Need I say Tony Mitchell and a number of past players mostly on UNT's team that are from LA.

For that matter UNT's team is loaded with above average talent to NBA talent that I'm sure JJ wishes he could bring to LSU. While your watching JJ rebuild LSU don't forget to look up UNT.

If our new coach doesn't screw it up we could have top 25 team next year provided Chris Jones, and Jordan Williams make their grades and are back on our team. Our team is out of ship's unless someone leaves or doesn't make our team. We're also waiting for 6-7 Justin Patton to become eligible from Grambling.

You've got a great coach and the UNT nation doesn't know who our next coach will be. Scariest part of this for the UNT nation is that our AD will hire someone like TJ...that would really set our program back many years!! UNT's administration has a history of making bonehead moves like TJ.

LSU nation. It may take a short time, but all of you, or most, will ultimately come to appreciate JJ. JJ is a winner and will bring back a winning tradition to LSU in the SEC.

At UNT I was always a football first board poster and reader. JJ changed all that with his winning ways. Y'all will be able to be negative if you wish about JJ, but in the long run he'll win you over because he's a winner. LSU has gained a lot of UNT BB fans just because we'll follow him based on what he did for and at UNT. I hate TCU for being so stupid as to hire a lackie coach like TJ!!! What a boneheaded hire, but it created a vacuum, and now our beloved coach has returned home.

How many LSU fans would have thought JJ or any other coach could have brought Tony Mitchell to UNT? Zip, zero, nada!! JJ brought him to the UNT nation. The UNT Nation is grateful to say the least!!! I'll put Tony Mitchell's talent up against any current LSU, or SEC talent for that matter!!! With LSU's conference status and name recognition JJ will recruit great players to LSU soon enough.

Have faith, JJ will win at LSU or die trying. JJ's not going to the "other side" anytime soon so the LSU nation will just have to get used to returning to it's winning ways on BB. One things for sure, I wish there were some way JJ could be back at UNT, but not going to happen.

As bad as TJ was I surprised at all the negative comments about JJ. Oh, I know the famous Earl Lester, he recanted his JJ accusations years ago, but as in the press the retraction never gets as much attention as the media driven false accusation.

Ouch...Johnny Jones and UNT Spanked Rice earlier this year. I wonder how long LSU fans and your AD are going to put up with TJ. Tourney appearances with other coaches players and even 3 COY are all in the past. From what I'm seeing TJ is just riding on the fumes of his past so call accomplishments.

Everyone in Tiger country needs to step away from the crack pipe!!! Look at all the former allegations concerning Johnny Jones. Y'all don't need to look at UNT's coach Johnny Jones, just pass him over and go to the next qualified candidate on your list once everyone's tired of TJ's production. I'm sure he'll turn it around for Tiger country and y'all will be happy!!! My guess is you'll continue to get spanked by 20 when you come to our house next year!!!

On the serious side I don't want y'all to come calling on Johnny Jones because he's a great coach!!! UNT is blessed to have him. Before he came to UNT we were truly a directional school with good BB facilities (from Blakely (sp) era) but we'd might as well have been given the BB death penalty!!! 4-something loss seasons for years with our last NCAA tournament in 88 I believe.

It took JJ time (around 5yrs) to build us a program that was making progress, but won 20 games in fifth year. Difference between UNT and LSU, UNT has no SEC affiliation and school name recognition was and is squat compared to LSU. From my point of view TJ is a bust and LSU should throw him overboard as fast as possible. If it means LSU comes calling on Johnny Jones then my opinion changes and TJ is the best coach ever, on the level of John Wooden!!!

Johnny Jones is building UNT to be the next Butler, Gonzaga, or Xavier!!! I'd just a soon have everyone overlook Mr. Jones until he finishes that process and our BOR has no choice but to match any offer other big school's that come a calling on JJ offer!!! This is wishful think in my part to a point (a little Mean Green Kool aid drinking here).

LSU may kick UNT's arse at the swamp 69+ to 10 in football, but not in Basketball!!! I'd appreciate everyone on Tiger Rant not referring to us as a directional school. Johnny Jones an LSU alumni deserves that much respect from other LSU fans and Alumni's for what he's built at UNT.

I've watch our program over the years and Johnny Jones has had his share of difficult, but talented players and he's disciplined them accordingly, some stayed at UNT some left. To Johnny's credit I've never seen him or his staff do anything below board from a recruiting standpoint or any other while running our program!

I hope LSU never comes a calling, does Johnny Jones deserve the call, most defiantly!!! Mr. Jones and company earned it. Truthfully I thought LSU's AD was drawing up a contract at halftime when we were up 14!!!

Johnny Jones is the "MAN", our "MAN" so stay away!!! LSU had it's shot and blew it so put your money on TJ he's the way to go!!!

We'll be reloading our team next year, but Johnny recruited the 31 best class in the country. The only 2 Texas school's to out recruit Johnny Jones were Baylor and Texas. Our returning players and freshmen class will play better fundamental basketball then we saw LSU's young class play against us a few days ago while getting schooled and spanked by UNT. Sorry for the continued references to UNT's spanking of LSU, but it was a form LSU alumni and assistant coach that made it happen!!!

Stay away from Johnny Jones he's our coach!!! All you LSU fans get on the TJ bandwagon now, the train's leaving the station.
