re: 2025-2026 Ski Thread

I've done the same thing twice going from PS to Wolf Creek. You should be fine with awd. We had a front wheel drive suv both times. Had a few issues the second trip as we caught heavy snow one afternoon and had to put on chains to get to rental house. They clear the road up the mountain after a hard snow. Great place to ski.

Rustic Inn. Very nice place. Short walk to the square or take their shuttle.

We spent the night at Yellowstone Village Inn last year. Nice clean family run hotel.
Did this trip last year. This is what we did and I would do again. Two nights in Jackson. Cool town to visit and you can spend a day at the Tetons. Then drive into Yellowstone after checking out of Jackson hotel, stay in the park or West Yellowstone. Next day continue driving North to Gardiner, MT. Next day head south and stay back in Jackson. Moving around was no big deal and recommend.
I recommend for those from out of state LSU Chimes or Parrains for casual. Louisiana Lagniappe for dinner. LL is the best restaurant in BR IMO.
Wicked and Lion King are the plays I would go to with a family. If you go in December, add Rockettes to the list. We usually stay in a Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn around Times Sq. Carmine's Times Sq for lunch or dinner.
Carmine's. Family size entrees.

Hilton Garden Inn was 2 blocks from the Hilton and much cheaper when I went last year. Nice hotel.

re: Planning a Europe Trip

yes. Flew into Rome in July on Delta. Msy to Atl, then to Rome. Came back out of Milan. Travel through Italy on high speed trains or Ryanair. Not too many issues. Both airports in Italy were a mess and all our flights were delayed. Recommend going from US direct to the destination in Europe like we did. And I think 3 cities on 1 trip is enough.

re: Parking @ UF game ?

Been to the game there a few times. I always park on the west side of stadium in someone's yard for $30 or so. If you come in on West University there will be a bunch of people wanting your money. There is also a school in the area that parks people in a field. Can't remember the name but I parked there once.
I enjoyed Charles Anthony's The Pub on a Friday night a few years back before a game.

Louisiana Lagniappe has the best seafood in BR,IMO.
Folk's Folly in Memphis about 15 years back. Bone-in filet. Other than that Ruth's in BR is hard to beat.

re: Italy Tour Guides

This is the same trip I'm doing with my wife and 2 boys mid July. I looked on Tripadvisor for reviews of tours. Booked City Wonders for Rome/Vatican and Lake Como. Someone different for Milan Last Supper and Cinque Terre. First trip to Italy so I wanted some guided tours.
I have a 2017 Silverado, 130,000 miles. Just replaced the transmission with a rebuild not from dealer, about a month ago. I'm getting 2-3 mpg less with the rebuild. Thoughts on why this would be happening? TIA
Did the same thing 4 years ago. I owned the land and did a 1 time close. This is how it worked. Lets say the estimated cost to build the home that you show the bank on paper is 100,000. You plan on borrowing 80,000. The bank wants to hold the full cost to build the house, in case you walk or something happens. So you cut the bank a check for 20,000. Start building the house. When you submit the first draw, you get your money back. They won't start interest until you get the 20,000 back.
I would recommend dinner Friday night at Louisiana Lagniappe. Call in advance and see if you can get a reservation. Best seafood in BR, imo. Hit the Chimes early on gameday for a few drinks and food, then go tailgate. Chimes Friday night if you don't do LL.
We were on the island a few years back for the show. On Saturday, parking on the island will be full early morning, around 7:00 or 8:00 am when we were there. Its a cool show and everyone in the area wants to go see it on the beach.
If you book through their rental agency, you get access to the clubhouse and pool. If you book through another agency, you have to pay a fee to use the club pool. That was the policy last time I was there, in 2019.
Been there many times. The charcoal grills are by the tennis courts. You will want to drive there from the condos. Not that big a deal. The club pool doesn't allow coolers to be brought in. Just keep it outside the gate and grab you drinks and walk in the gate. The pools in front of each condo don't have any rules. You can bring a cooler to the pool area.
