it really does remind me of how much fun the game was at that age, what a special part of baseball growing up was

Yeah it was pretty fun. Almost felt like I was a major leaguer and we didn't even have the MLB team jerseys back then else we'd have gotten in trouble. Plus, in Chickasaw, AL, we didn't have the money either for that kind of stuff. In 1978 when I was in the 4th grade, it cost me $5 to play a whole season. Included catastrophic health insurance too
