Delaying maintenance turn arounds have consequences. All of the plants in South Louisiana have been doing this for a couple of years. Dow just cancelled a big one a week before it was going to start. Glad I don't live near that plant.
Not the interstate but Seigen Lane at Industriplex for me. Two lanes to the left of the right exit lane at Industriplex the car in front of me hammers its brakes on a green light and puts its right turn signal on! I almost get rear ended so i start wearing out the horn to make them go. Instead they hammer the gas and cut across both lanes to Industriplex nearly causing a massive pile up. Dumbass probably woulda Got Gor-un and sued anybody that t-boned them. Scared me so bad I now have a front and rear facing camera in my truck.

re: 2025 F150 - ecoboost vs powerboost

I have owned several King Ranch F-150's with the 5.0. My 2015 went 300k miles with the stock engine and transmission. I didn't want the ecoboost so I looked on Car Gurus and found a clean 2023 with the 5.0. Drove 500 miles to pick it up but I just turned 46k trouble free miles. I added the start/stop kit that goes behind the switch and it literally took 5 minutes. Summertime in S. Louisiana is no time for your a/c compressor to stop rotating. I say look for a low mileage '23 and go get it.
I consider myself "spongeworthy".
Worked as a grunt on a renovation crew doing demolition at Louisiana School for the Deaf in the 80's. Apparently they would write notes to each other on the walls because there was lots of crazy sex stuff written everywhere. Made this 16 year old permaboner want a deaf girlfriend very badly.
If you are in BR go by and see Mark at Superior Tackle. He moved to Bahio as soon as Costa started screwing over people. He has a big selection for you to try on. I have 3 pair spread around and love them.

I almost bought a 3.0 after I sold my 2015 F-150 5.0 with 300k trouble free miles. What stopped me was finding out there is a service to the engine every 100k miles where a belt has to be changed on the backside of the engine (oil pump maybe?). Problem is that the transmission has to be dropped for this to be done at a cost of several thousand dollars. As many miles as I drive doing this 2-3 times while I own the truck was a no-go. I do have friends that still bought them and they love it.
Humpbacks and pilot whales 120 miles out of Cocodrie. Not breaching but just swam up within 10 feet of the boat to look at us. Made me feel very small.
My friend had video of one tearing apart his corn feeder last week by Port Hudson. Probably the same one.

I have a 2023 Can Am Defender x-mr. I like the higher stance for crawling over logs and such on our hunting property. Have used the winch several times to drag deer up steep hills. Our property is sandy so no deep mud but I do like having the extra power of the 1000 when it is loaded down with bags of corn going out to the feeders. I have the glass windshield that flips up, the poly rear window, and the plastic roof. Engine runs like watch and is surprisingly quiet. Transmission engagement is smoother than my previous Polaris. Overall seems to be really well made and thought out. I really like that it comes from the factory with easy to access zerk fittings on the bearings and bushings
No issues so far with two hunting seasons and some joy riding.
I bought a 2024 Wrangler Rubicon 392 as a third car. With kids out of the house the wife and I enjoy throwing the top back on a pretty day and going someplace to eat, etc. Never had a duck left on it but wouldn't mind. Would not leave on the dash as that would annoy the hell out of me. Additionally, when I hammer the throttle it would probably hit me in the face anyway. To each their own.
You need to youtube Heart playing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy awards a few years back. Jimmy Page was so fired up and Robert Plant looked like he was going to cry. Gives me goosebumps everything I watch it.

Story in the Advocate about him a few days ago. He got the nickname Monster after he was born because he was so hairy. Had his first haircut at 3 days old and people said he looked like a little monster. Nickname stuck and people have been calling him that ever since. Even his teachers. Parents said they only use his given name at formal events like graduations, etc.
Go to Anton's on Coursey and see George. Honest as they come. My father in law is from Europe. Bought his Rolex at the home store in Switzerland. Had it serviced there every few years on return trips to visit family. Because covid did not have it serviced there but used a local store in BR. Just found out it now has a counterfeit movement when he brought it to Rolex in Switzerland because it was quickly losing time. Local store denies it was them but I doubt Rolex is installing counterfeit movements.
Mapp? Ha Ha Ha Ha!

I'd tell the recruits to cash that check as quick as possible.
Back in the early 80's my mom went to visit her cousin in Houston. Something came apart in the motor while she was there and my dad said we gotta go get her. Put my sister up front with him in the El Camino and told my little brother and I to hop in the back. 5 hours later we were in Houston and he was working on her car.
3000 acres by Columbia, MS. Only 12 kills all season. Saw a ton of does and yearlings. Very few quality bucks and our property is very low pressure. Looking at the mounts from 10 years ago and what we see now is sad. Two spring fed creeks on the property kept the deer there through the drought, or so I thought. Fishing in Dulac coming soon!

I know your friend. He was an awesome person and my heart goes out to his fiancee. Had several beers after a good fishing trip with him in Dulac. Always had good friends with him that I enjoyed visiting with. May he rest in peace. He was one of the good ones.

Army's starting right tackle is Connor Finucane. He graduated from Catholic High in BR and is a team captain. Super bright and a great young man. I think he is a senior this year.
Chevy Chase. Circa 1991 in Snowmass with some buddies skiing. We go to a place to eat and get seated next to Chevy and his family. We are all geeked about it since we could recite the entirety of Fletch in the drop of a hat. We are contemplating asking for an autograph but do not disturb him. The waiter shows up to give him his bill and Chevy loudly said About time! He paid and stormed off. The waiter came to take our order and said he was the biggest a-hole he had ever served...and he stiffed him.

Patrick Peterson. My son and I were at the hobby shop and Patrick walked in with all of his LSU stuff on. My son and I start talking to him about his remote control car. Could not have been nicer. The goofball behind the counter looks at him and says what....do you play for LSU or something? He says yes, I'm Patrick Peterson. The goofball then shakes his head and says nope, never heard of you. The three of us look at each other and Crack up laughing. Great guy. Talked to my kid a lot and high five him when he left.

Jason Alexander. Was in Hawaii with my wife (no pics) for our 25th wedding anniversary. Jason sat in a lounge chair next to us on the beach. We didn't say anything just looked at each other with a "holy shite that is Jason Alexander" look. After a few minutes an attractive lady slowly walked up to him and nicely asked for his autograph because huge fan, etc. He looked at her and in a total dick voice said "can't you see I am trying to relax!!" The lady looked like she was going to cry and I wanted to punch him. Total dick.
