re: Happy 70th birthday to Nancy Wilson of Heart.....
Posted by IHateMatt on 3/16/24 at 8:12 pm
You need to youtube Heart playing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy awards a few years back. Jimmy Page was so fired up and Robert Plant looked like he was going to cry. Gives me goosebumps everything I watch it. ...

Story in the Advocate about him a few days ago. He got the nickname Monster after he was born because he was so hairy. Had his first haircut at 3 days old and people said he looked like a little monster. Nickname stuck and people have been calling him that ever since. Even his teachers. Parents said...
re: Is Rolex Authorized Service Actually Necessary? What’s a Fair Price?
Posted by IHateMatt on 2/14/24 at 3:00 pm
Go to Anton's on Coursey and see George. Honest as they come. My father in law is from Europe. Bought his Rolex at the home store in Switzerland. Had it serviced there every few years on return trips to visit family. Because covid did not have it serviced there but used a local store in BR. Just fo...

re: Parent of the day- unrestrained toddler now in stable condition after car accident

Back in the early 80's my mom went to visit her cousin in Houston. Something came apart in the motor while she was there and my dad said we gotta go get her. Put my sister up front with him in the El Camino and told my little brother and I to hop in the back. 5 hours later we were in Houston and he ...
re: Mississippi Deer hunters, how was your season?
Posted by IHateMatt on 1/29/24 at 4:05 pm
3000 acres by Columbia, MS. Only 12 kills all season. Saw a ton of does and yearlings. Very few quality bucks and our property is very low pressure. Looking at the mounts from 10 years ago and what we see now is sad. Two spring fed creeks on the property kept the deer there through the drought, or ...

I know your friend. He was an awesome person and my heart goes out to his fiancee. Had several beers after a good fishing trip with him in Dulac. Always had good friends with him that I enjoyed visiting with. May he rest in peace. He was one of the good ones. ...

Army's starting right tackle is Connor Finucane. He graduated from Catholic High in BR and is a team captain. Super bright and a great young man. I think he is a senior this year. ...

Chevy Chase. Circa 1991 in Snowmass with some buddies skiing. We go to a place to eat and get seated next to Chevy and his family. We are all geeked about it since we could recite the entirety of Fletch in the drop of a hat. We are contemplating asking for an autograph but do not disturb him. The wa...

re: Offshore fishing: do you turn your outboard(s) off while fishing reefs?
Posted by IHateMatt on 8/25/23 at 10:56 am
Never turn mine off when I get past the islands. Chartplotters, autopilot, baitwells, radio, sounder, etc. is too much of a risk of draining the batteries when out in the middle of nowhere....

Hate to see it. Honeymooners at Hyatt on Kaanapali Beach in '93. Spent a lot of time in Lahaina chilling out and taking in the sights. I wonder if Greg Brady taking the tiki figure had anything to do with this. ...

Absolutely McClards BBQ. Started eating there in the '70's and still have the sauce shipped in for cooking here in BR.......
re: Giant oil platform begins journey from Ingleside to the Gulf of Mexico

Not worried about Moscona showing up and scaring off my fish, Mr. Fut. However your wife in a bikini is a concern since killer whales are something I don't want to F around with. ...

Sign on the side said Green Canyon block 763. That is 130 miles SSW of Wine Island Pass by Cocodrie in 4,900 feet of water. I only go about 30 miles past Brutus so a little too far for me to see how it fishes........
re: Lexus GX - Updated - Found a low mileage GX from New York

The Mrs. had an '04, '11, and now a '22. Swills gas but super reliable. Sold the '11 last year with 160k miles and no telling how many hours idling in carpool lines. Never had an issue other than oil changes and occasional brake job. Engine is not a torque monster but has decent power. Have tow...
re: Best way to get rid of stray cats

I had a male tabby spraying my back porch a few years ago. I set a trap with canned tuna and started catching raccoons virtually every night but not the tabby. After relocating 5 raccoons, the trap was empty in the mornings but piss was still there. I put the trap up and started leaving some tuna...
re: Car Hauler Brokers

I bought a Jeep in Iowa. Paid one of the national brokers to bring it to Baton Rouge. Received a call the next day from a hispanic fella who said he was in downtown Chicago and was leaving my new Jeep on the side of the road with the key on the seat unless he got more money. I called the police i...
re: Ecoboost owners question
Posted by IHateMatt on 10/5/22 at 3:45 pm
I own a fleet of vehicles. Ecoboost is luck of the draw. Some have no problems, others eat oil and other issues. My 2015 5.0 has had zero issues at 265,000 miles. We have a 2016 with the 5.0 with 370,000 miles and stock tranny that has probably 100,000 of those miles towing trailers from 3000 to 800...
