Building a home and want to run cables and purchase a system. Looking for a really good top of the line 1080p minimum system with 6 cameras and the DVR box. I was looking all around and I just don’t know who are the leaders in this industry, beat brand, or best deal. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FYI. I also want to be able to view from my phone away from my home.

Thanks

Based on recommendations form a previous thread I went with the Swann system. 8 cameras and DVR box. Best Buy has the 1TB system on sale for $330 and the 2TB system on sale for $500. I do not know enough about the system just yet to know whether you'll need the 1 or 2TB.

I have not hooked mine up yet, but I have a friend with the same system and the night vision is very good.

I highly recommend you check Sam's Club if you're looking at Swann. I got three 8 channel (with all 8 cameras) systems a few years ago for $399. The price typically fluctuates from $399-$499.

ETA: 1 system was for my house, and the other 2 systems were for our 2 business' buildings.

We had the arlo. It's great that i get to hear through the cams, it has a motion sensor too but sometimes it gets a little too sensitive that it sends false notifs. You can check few details about it. The resolution is clear too.

I've had decent luck with Lorex.

Great product.
CRAPPY support if you need it.

That being said, pick something that downloads (not streams) at a high resolution. Minimum 1080p and has good night vision.

If it can't do both those things, it's next to worthless IMHO.
