re: Fournette "sitting out"

Just so I comprehend your position, you argued that the Citrus Bowl is "meaningless". Then said that LF playing in the Florida game (while injured) is worth risking his career over.

Makes total sense

Got it.. So the Sugar Bowl is worth further injury but the Citrus is not.

This is my point- If he was injured all season, why not just shut it down and truly heal? After the Alabama game ALL the games were meaningless relative to team goals..

I'm not blaming the guy for doing what is best for him and his family, nobody can.. Just saying the level of bowl game should not dictate if a player stays on the team or not- and that's what this looks like.

So you wouldn't be ok.. Me neither.

I have noticed. He was still a part of the team then also, you know doing team stuff with the team.

So would you honestly be ok if LSU was in the playoff and LF quit to prepare for the draft? Come on

Following this line of logic LSU has had 4 losses since November 19th, why not quit then to get healthy and prepare for the draft?

I will pile on...

Alleva's last 12 months as AD have been a disaster.

Mens basketball: 19-14 no postseason
Womens basketball: 10-21 no postseason
Baseball: Lost in Super Regional at home
Softball: CWS
Football: 7-4

So Denham Springs HS can conduct a coaching search and make a hire faster than LSU can?

DSHS AD for Alleva's job
The case for Ensminger for OC-

1.It's his dream job
2.He is in fact one of us (LSU QB 1976-1979)
3.He has improved since his last OC job- breaking offensive LSU records during his current tenure
4.He was a position coach prior to interim OC,and a noted recruiter (primary for current starters Maea Teuhema, Tre White, Desean Smith, DJ Chark) Secondary for Jamal Adams and Devin White.

If this line of logic applies to our recent HC hire, why not OC as well?
Hey I agree 100% Alabama should be placed on defense sometimes in recruiting, just seems to me LSU would be a little smarter than to go after the kid from Hawaii that facetimes with Saban every Sunday..

The more appropriate offer if LSU is going that route would have been to offer Brian Robinson (RB, Tuscaloosa)..
If we start offering kids committed to Alabama to play mind games with them, the program is in worse shape than I thought.

Sorry the search function on O jokes must be a little overloaded right now. Moving forward I will perform my due dilligence prior to posting.
Your data is flawed. It doesn't include the shirt rip off and Dwayne Johnson recruiting multipliers. Factoring both of those in, O is clearly on the upper end of this scale.

Maybe his earpiece malfunctioned and Ponamsky loaded up the wrong narrative..
IMO Enlow and Storz sign
Cabrera and Pearson make it to campus
McCabe is a toss up.. if he shows up he is a lights out back of the game guy.

:geauxtigers:
The guy he just fired was more qualified to be HC at LSU and he wasn't near good enough to run this program...
Just looking at resumes-

Peveto had been a DC (2008 co-D.C. At LSU)
Coach O has never had coordinator experience

Both were Head Coaches
Peveto went 14-30 Northwestern State
Orgeron went 10-25 Ole Miss

I think the issue is the Coach O fanboys want everyone to ignore the fact that he isn't qualified to be LSU's head coach.

Substitute LSU for USC

I support LSU regardless of who is coaching, and I hope O goes undefeated.. just found this interesting.
Article written in 2013- hope for Lsu's sake this guy is wrong.

If I am hiring a guy to recruit and coach the hell out of DL's, Coach O is without a doubt the best out there but I think the whole "O is the best recruiter in the business" may be a bit exaggerated.

According to 247 recruiter rankings since 2008 LSU has had a higher ranked coach on staff every year except 2013, when Coach O finished 5th and Frank Wilson 22nd.

Coach O's highest recent finish- according to 247- (4th in 2011), Frank Wilson finished 2nd.

Not trying to diminish his value, just bring a little perspective and IMO LSU is fortunate to have him on staff and should do whatever they have to to keep him... just not as HC.
Funny thing is he's not THAT great of a recruiter.. I understand he Miami days but recent history tells a little different story.

IMO he is an extremely valuable piece to the recruiting piece of the overall puzzle who can motivate and coach the hell out of the DL. LSU is fortunate to have him on staff and should do whatever they can to keep him... just not as HC.
