I am putting the below gazebo in my backyard and looking to mount a TV under it. Ideally, when not in use, I'd like for the TV to sit tucked under the roof (almost flush with the wood roof beams to be protected, and then when in use pull it down and be able to swivel it. Any ideas on mounting a TV under a gazebo or if their a particular mount that sounds like it would fit what I am looking for?

I almost want like a ceiling mount that would then fold up, but not sure if they make something like that. Any help is appreciated.

You can get an articulating wall-mount and just mount it rotated 90 degrees to make it swing down rather than out.

Flip down TV mount and a fitted cover. Birds, mud wasps, and ants will ruin a non-outdoor rated TV and being stored flipped up makes them very attractive to nesting birds.

Ehh I’ve had dirt daubers all over and birds shite all over a cheap $300 LG for years and it’s still fine. Completely out of the rain.

I’m also having a deck being built as we speak. The joists are spaced 30in apart with 5/4 deck boards. How bad is this?

Bad

5/4 deck boards should be on nothing less than 16” on center. I believe it says this on the specs. You could just install another joist between the installed joists to meet spec. Whose ides was it to space the joists so far apart?

The guy that put the deck in. It’s a floating deck sitting on 12x12 pavers. Dk if that impacts anything.

All the deck boards have been laid at this point. Am I just ducked or what is best course of action?

I wonder if I could take up a deck board or two where the joists would be screwed in and go about it that way or is that impossible with the other boards already screwed down?

Are these standard pavers, leaving the bottom of the joists ~2” over the ground?

30” spacing is a pretty random number and not nearly enough. Those 1” deck boards are gonna sag like crazy.

The deck boards run perpendicular to the joists. If I understand what you’re asking, no, that wouldn’t be possible.

That is correct. It was built just to put a structure on top. Any fixes here or just ride it out?

No fixes that I know of, other than having the installer come back and do the job right. It’s not do difficult to find the specs for 5/4 deck boards and show them to him.
They will sag, and when they get a little dry and weathered, they will break under stress.

What’s the fix here? Pull up all deck boards, add the additional joists, and put deck boards back down?

If he won’t come fix, is it worth just doing myself? It’s brand new and a large 16x12 gazebo is going on top. He did reinforce the corners where the posts would be with some additional support in the frame.

I assume I could do it that all myself fairly easily? When backing out the deck screws, I should be able to just put the new deck boards right back down and just go into new holes?

Precisely.
I would do it, or have it done especially since you have a gazebo going there.
Can you elaborate on his reinforcement where the posts are going to be?
The more info I get, the more concerned I am about your project.
What size joists did he use, and what is the unsupported span of these joists?

30in between the joists. 2x4. Let me know. Gazebo going up in two weeks so would like to get this right. That’s the frame. All that happened after that pic were some hurricane ties dug into the ground and deck boards laid.

ETA: I’m not very handy but can drill and shite. It is as easy as backing out the deck screws, fitting the additional supports, screwing them in and laying deck boards back down? Assume using new screws and going into new holes on the deck boards?

Wait, that's 2X4 joists on top of 30" apart? You're not only going to have deck boards sagging but the joists will eventually sag, too. Experts can weigh in, but I tend to overbuild on framing, especially.

Yeah I’m a bit concerned at this point. What’s the fix here?

Either going to pull up the boards myself or have the installer do it/help but want to get it right.

So the original installer is coming back to fix - he admitted a mistake. What is recommended way to fix this? Add 2x4x12 runners in the middle of the gaps and put some blocking?

Oh my. What a mess.
You could install additional joists,
You will need additional pavers midway of your spans, but then you still have 2x4 joists
Not recommended, but you probably can get by with it.
What is the plan to anchor the posts ? That bracket screwed into those pavers ain’t gonna work. You will need a concrete footing under the posts. I certainly wouldn’t want those posts depending on a 5/4 board to hold them up.
I’m sorry you are having to go through this.
