re: Anyone think Mike Leach actually goes to Auburn?
Posted by lsufanexilednalabama on 12/6/08 at 8:34 am to Rza32
I live near Auburn and can assure you that if he goes to Auburn it will be nothing short of disaster. The well, shall I say, "ultra redneck" and control freak style of Auburn's leadership will not understand nor tolerate the "quirkiness" and "free wheelingness" of his style and personality and in short order he will be an outcast.
He is a good coach and might do very well there but his personality will be a detriment and one "off color" remark about the south, the "people" of the south, racial harmony or disharmony, ungrateful or unappreciative fans, prejudice or anything like that will cause a groundswell of hatred towards him.
Without the sex scandal, he could become Auburn's version of Mike Price if hired...

No school should ever win the National Championship but LSU....!!!
If we don't qualify for the game, the powers that be should just go ahead and cancel the damn thing....!!

I started this thread and was wondering if anyone can tell me if Robinson just recently entered into possible consideration for the DC position or is this something really new?
I mean I have been hearing about Chavis, "O", Croom, Koenning, et. al. here on TD but never anything about him until that report I linked in the thread.
Is there some real potential in this? Even though Robinson's comment seems to be saying this is "a reach" in the eyes of the TD faithful, I humbly ask -- WHAT SAY YOU..???

Saw this on MSN Sports -- Could be Germans so go easy on me but I went back 5 pages on TD and saw nothing about it..
Miles contacts ex-Syracuse coach about DC position...
LSU has some interest in Greg Robinson
LSU football coach Les Miles has apparently inquired about bringing former Syracuse coach Greg Robinson to Baton Rouge as his defensive coordinator. Contacted Thursday night, Robinson did not deny the contact about the LSU job, though he said the information might be "reaching a little bit." He said he's weighing all his options. "I don't see myself having the ability to do something right now," Robinson said. "First of all, I want to continue to work on our coaches to help them (find new jobs). Secondly, I have to weigh all my options. That's going to take some time." -- Syracuse Post-Standard

Saban and the Tide are back, and it's high time that we face it.
Are we too assume then that Bama is not a "second half team" since their 31 point halftime that you addressed in your comment evaporated to an 11 point win...????
This praise of Bama will begin to slow when finally, and it will happen, on their first offensive possession THEY ARE SHUT DOWN, 3 and out, and then on their opponents first offensive possession the opponents take the ball down field on a long systematic drive down Bama's throat and score.
No one has punched Alabama in the face right out of the gate in any game offensively or defensively yet. When this happens, we will see what Bama really has under the hood.
Don't get me wrong, the win over Georgia is a great win for them as any away game win is in the SEC. The "big win" over Clemson has begun to lose some of its luster after their latest debacle against "powerful" Maryland.
The still got some things to prove in my opinion.

re: I hate the way every one is saying Alabama

Can't you see, it is a hot news story and it is their media darling,"lil'baby boy Saban" leading it. They are going to push and push for this and stranger things have happened than what is it they seem to be seeking and that is Bama at #2 right now vaulting right over everyone they trailed last week.
God help me I live in Alabama and the misery I will have to endure having to listening to the gloating and deception of the Bama fans I fear will be nothing short of arduous.
They have already forgotten that Auburn has kicked their asses the last 6 years in a row, and openly there is talk about a "substansial pay raise" for Nick that is most deserved.
They should move up some, but not to #2.

What a weasel and cry-baby. Maybe he can start "politiking" for another AP National Championship cause the BCS just waved bye-bye to USC....
